Embarked on a little journey back to the traditional Hong Kong style tearoom. With their retail point on G/F, the Kee Wah Tearoom is situated on 1/F. As you walk up the risers, you’ll see the mural wall painting that reminds you of the traces of the old HK, including the wooden details, patterned floor tiles and ceiling fans.⁣⁣We were instantly captivated by the looks of the shrimp toast at the table next to us. We also went for the old-fashioned beef stroganoff, and their pan-fried turnip cake.

We were instantly captivated by the looks of the shrimp toast at the table next to us. We also went for the old-fashioned beef stroganoff, and their pan-fried turnip cake.⁣

The food were prompt served 👍🏼, with the most highly anticipated prawn🦐 toast - the prawn mixture were evenly and generously spread spread across the rectangular toast. The crustiness were there and the seasoning of the prawns were just right😍😍. Served with a sweet and chilli 🌶sauce as dipping. Portions were just right, after all, it’s very “heaty” for these deep fried food. But they tasted so good, and more so with the tea ☕️ .⁣

The apple 🍎 , honey 🍯 tea was amazing, the ginger taste was pretty strong, not overpowering the Long Jing though, the apple slices and honey acted as the natural sweetener😎.⁣

The beef stroganoff was lovely, beef was tender, and the cream sauce was superb, but would have preferred more rice.. Could have easily done with another bowl 😆⁣

The only dish that slightly let us down was the pan-fried turnip cake. The South East Asian inspired dish didn’t live up to its expectation😣, the turnip cake just tasted full of rice flour and the thick soy sauce was pretty singular.⁣
