A friend took me to Dot Cod for a Friday lunch to catch up. Somehow I had forgotten about this place, may be because of its basement location - out of sight is out of mind?! I used to think the place was a bit pricey too.I was pleasantly surprised during this visit. The mains are normally priced considering the location, $300-400. A friend took me to Dot Cod for a Friday lunch to catch up. Somehow I had forgotten about this place, may be because of its basement location - out of sight is out of mind?! I used to think the place was a bit pricey too.

I was pleasantly surprised during this visit. The mains are normally priced considering the location, $300-400. But there is a light menu: reasonably priced dishes with good portions (some below $200). My shepherd’s pie tasted well and my friend’s steak looked great.

The atmosphere was casual and comfy but not noisy. Service was very good. The staff member helping us was caring and attentive.

Anyway, very glad I re-discovered this place.
