Hello,I’m a habitué to Causeway Bay, I enjoy excitement and the hurly and burly there, and when I’m there I won’t miss any opportunity for good foods nearby! I’m a habitué to Causeway Bay, I enjoy excitement and the hurly and burly there, and when I’m there I won’t miss any opportunity for good foods nearby! I’ve never been to Satay King before, it is at the 9th floor of a commercial building, the location is so convenient since exits B and C of Causeway Bay Station are just nearby. I reached the restaurant a bit earlier than normal dinner time, only a few customers were there. My first impression is that the décor is quite chic albeit a bit quaint, and under the dim lighting the feeling is not so comfortable to me. I ordered a set dinner which included the followings items, they cost altogether $64 with 10% service charge included.
2.appetizer platter (bean curd, salmon rolls with cheese)
3.cold coffee
4.vanilla ice cream
The Pork Chop was out of frozen pork, which was a reasonable expectation judging the price tag, nonetheless it was tender alas with no taste of pork at all. The white curry was a star, fragrant and slightly sweet which was so refreshing. The biggest surprise was the humble rice, it was the best one could expect from any restaurant in Hong Kong, probably better than my home’s!
You can choose either the appetizer platter or the soup, the waitress told me they served cream soup that day which I thought was too ordinary a choice, so I chose the appetizer platter instead which included a small piece of bean curd, two pieces of cheese salmon rolls, and a little bit of sweetened seaweeds, all placed in a rectangular dish with three compartments. The cheese rolls were very good indeed, the aroma of cooked salmon lingered long after they had been in your stomach!
Other Info. :
Will visit again when chance comes (no coffee again), especially for the white curry!
