Super Super Congee & Noodle is a fast food chain that focuses on noodles and congee. They were offering a wintermelon soup set for one that included one mini wintermelon soup, one plate of Fujian fried rice for $68. If you add $7, you get a bowl of cha cha dessert soup. Though it was for one person, this was enough to share and that is what boyfriend and I did.
You get half a mini wintermelon. Inside was a few bits of pork and vegetables. But the star of this was the wintermelon where you really get a lot of melon meat if you scrape away at it. The soup was savory and not too bad. You get pretty full from eating the melon and drinking at least 2 bowls of soup each.
The Fuijian fried rice was not that great. It was dry and the sauce didn't really help moisten it up much. However, it was a lot of rice and I think we each got 2 bowls of rice from this.
For $7, you can add on a cha cha dessert. This came in a pretty big bowl and again we could share this. It was ok. Just a lot of beans though a bit grainy. But for $7, one really can't complain.
Probably one of the cheapest deals around. And it felt fairly healthy, especially for fast food. It's now wonder I saw so many couples sharing this set.
