I just want to vent out the worst lunch experience I ever had at this Shin Mapo Korean restaurant. I heard great things about this restaurant and visited their Yuen Long, establishment at Yoho Mall with my wife and two sons. I just want to vent out the worst lunch experience I ever had at this Shin Mapo Korean restaurant. I heard great things about this restaurant and visited their Yuen Long, establishment at Yoho Mall with my wife and two sons. One my younger son 3 years old was not feeling well and he throw up on the table, it wasn’t a lot of vomit, but none of the waiters tried to offer assistance to help out to clean a bit of vomit from a child. 3 waiters passed and I spoke to them, they just walked away. One of the waiter even show and sweared in front of our table saying “diu” in Cantonese. I speak Cantonese and I fully know what he said in front of my kids and my wife. In my mind, I wanted to say something and even thought about speaking to the staff that it was inappropriate gesture to say something like that in a restaurant with family and kids. My wife cleaned the table herself and we continued to just finish our Christmas Lunch, I was so frustrated in my thoughts but didn’t want to lash out and making a scene there and then. With the frustration inside, I didn’t even know if the food was good or not, my wife saw that I was upset as well. When we left the restaurant I spoke to the manager about the issue and how their staff, ignored our table or offered to help. He just said sorry and that the staff on the floor was just part time staff and he would inform management for better training. In my mind, I just thought that was not good enough. I was totally disappointed and felt awful leaving the place with the heavy feeling in my heart that proper dining experience was ruined because of poorly trained staff and temps.
