A very cozy Yakitori place in Tai Hang with the worst service you can ever imagine. No drinks are served, just scalding hot water when it’s 37C outside. There is no tap water available, any lukewarm or cold plain water is charged. No tea is served either. Basically, there is no choice but to order cold water. Food is impeccable. I feel sorry for the owner of this restaurant who’s put so much effort in creating such an extensive delicious menu because all his staff are just forcing customers not
Food is impeccable. I feel sorry for the owner of this restaurant who’s put so much effort in creating such an extensive delicious menu because all his staff are just forcing customers not to return. Everyone of them has an attitude. None of them are helpful. We had a party of 8 and it’s $1000+ per head but they charge $500 corkage even if we wanted to order a bottle from them. There is no flexibility whatsoever. Price of a high end restaurant but service worse than the ones from a street stall.
Restaurant closes at 10pm and by 8:30pm, they told us it was their last order. To make things even worse, they closed their air con on a hot summer day at 9:30pm just to make sure you suffer enough eating hot Yakitori and being suffocated in a room. It’s really not even about service nor attitude; I’d rather think it was quite inhumane doing so.
Japanese are well known for their manners and hospitality and this restaurant has demonstrated the exact opposite of that. I hope their owner isn’t Japanese; I would be so shameful for such an experience. Restaurants are struggling so hard to stay in business in Hong Kong and there are so many choices out there to pick, I would definitely not come back to this one.
