Baked is one of those brunch places that you have seen in nearly every blog or magazine. Is it that great? Yes. It absolutely is. You can tell that the food must be amazing given how small the restaurant is but it is always jam packed with people waiting in line. Seriously can’t emphasise how many people are constantly lining up just to try this place out. We went at 11ish and there was already a line waiting, we managed to go in quick since we were two people and had a nice comfortable seat. Th
Oh my god
This dish was a truffle cream sauce on portobello mushroom with poached egg and rocket. Served on what I consider one of the best sourdoughs in Hong Kong. Honestly the sourdough at baked is by far one of the best due to how perfectly toasted it is. It isn’t difficult to cut nor too hard from over cooking, always cooked to perfection. The dish will make you say oh my god due to the rich creamy flavours and certainly one of the dishes I would recommend getting. You are getting your moneys worth here.
Baked eggs on sourdough
Did I cheat and change the brioche to a sourdough? Yes, and that is baked’s fault for making the sourdough so good. I asked for a change in bread and they were kind enough to accommodate. Best service ever. The egg was perfectly seasoned and cooked perfectly with cheese and herbs. It was so fragrant you could smell the dish coming to your table. I personally preferred the baked eggs over the oh my god simple due to how well the eggs were done.
The serving size at baked are always so generous and that’s why you know everyone is lining up for a good brunch that is worth the time and money. Should you try baked? Yes. Should you be reasonable and come early so you don’t have to wait in line for 1-2 hours? Definitely
