A new face had appeared recently on Morrison Hill Road in Wan Chai. The angel white colour of the cafe is unforgettable even after walking the whole road. Cafe du Ciel uses white as its main colour. French windows are also used. The blue and white cloths that were hanging from the ceiling sways freely in the wind, just like the moving sky. You will feel refreshed after taking a deep breath inside the cafe. As you push open the white arched door and turn your way to the 2nd floor, you will find out that it is also white. Looking out on the street through the windows give you a clearer perception of the view. \r\n

\r\nThe main chef of Cafe du Ciel is very experienced in cooking French and Italia food. He also had experience working in a large hotel, therefore the food are comparable to hotel standards. An example of an excellent recipe would be the 'Bauilli-A-Baissc' with its fresh and sweet flavour. The soup is boiled with sole fillet, king prawn, squid rings and tomatoes. \r\n

\r\nAnother appetizer is the 'Buffalo Cheese & Tomato Salad' ($65). Of course, the main character of this dish is buffalo cheese. The taste of the cheese is very light. It is not the same even if you eat the whole dish, but it does has a light scent of cheese flavour. Openrice strongly recommend this to every customer!\r\n
\r\nDon't just think that there are only snacks available on the menu. There are also rice, noodles and pasta. The 'Italian Rice with Fresh Mixed Vegetables' ($70) is an example and it is suitable for vegetarians. The texture of the rice is very chewy and sticky because it is made with white wine, cheese and soup. Although it is a vegetarian dish, the flavour is still irresistible.\r\n
\r\nAs for the main dish, the chef cooked 2 of them us: 'Pan-fried King Prawn With Pepper & Chili Sauce' ($85), and the 'Roasted Duck Breast with Chianti' ($95). The 'Pan-fried King Prawn With Pepper & Chili Sauce' is a terrific dish, but it is not hot. First, the king prawns were put into the oven to bake and then a special sauce was poured on top. The sauce is made from a mixture of cow bones, green and red pepper, garlic and black pepper sauce, adding a touch of excitement to the prawns. It is really yummy!\r\n'Roasted Duck Breast with Chianti' is made by marinating the duck breast with red wine, therefore allowing the flavour to soak into the tender meat. A sauce created by the chef is then poured on top giving it a sweet, sour and menthol flavour. You won't be able to control your appetite even you are afraid of oily food, like me. \r\n\r\n

\r\nThe workers of the cafe are very friendly and will make you feel like home. You can also book the 2nd floor ($5000 per night from Sunday to Thursday) and do whatever you want, or you can book it and have a candle light dinner with your other half. Cafe du Ciel is so outstanding. How can you miss out on having a white romance?
