It's not easy to decide on a last min gathering place in Christmas time. My friends have been a few times and love both the food & ambience here. Indeed, I agree with her, a venue that's quite in the middle of nowhere which you'd better access via taxi or driving. I do like the tapas here, somehow different from the Spanish restaurant in TST.To kick off the lunch while we were waiting for the late comers, we had: Pa amb Tomaquet - $55Basically, this is another form of brushetta but it has a m
To kick off the lunch while we were waiting for the late comers, we had:
Pa amb Tomaquet - $55
Basically, this is another form of brushetta but it has a much stronger taste with the olive oil & salt. Some of the Pa amb Tomaquet are very dry but they toasted it just right, crunchy outside juicy on the top. Jamon Iberico - $330
Once, I had a conversation with my friend and we discussed about Iberico and Parma ham. He told me that the sales of Parma ham dropped drastically in 2013 since people switched to Iberico once they tried it. I guess he's right, I am gradually moving away from Parma ham coz I found that too salty even with the nice aged ones. The Iberico we had that day was incredible, I can "kill" the whole plate without a problem. The meat was tender, not chewy at all and most important of all, it's not salty. Cod Fritters - $90
I am not a "deep fried" fan but probably the best way to prepare the fish (other than Chinese steaming) is deep frying. The Cod Fritters somehow reminded me of the famous Macao dish - 炸馬介休球 (portugese, spanish, portugese, spanish...oh well, they are neighbors!) Surprisingly, the Cod Fritters has a soft runny centre, the texture was interesting and the cod taste was strong. I like the way they deep fried it, not too thick of the coating and not too greasy. Regret that I didn't order wine that day, sigh... Avocado lobster roll - $ 160
This was my favorite tapas of the day, what a great combination of Avocado and Lobster. Very refreshing and neutralized the deep fried cod taste I just had. Marinated Pickles - $52
I had conducted a survey and this was the only dish that got all the votes. The reason was simple: simple, clean, easy and refreshing. Although it said "pickles", the taste was strong, then all the veggies and fruits were marinated right to the point. My apology, I forgot the name of this dish and I just wanna showed it here coz it's on the house. They were being very nice to serve us freebie while we were waiting for the suckling piglet. This free dish tasted very good as well...especially when we were starving... Suckling piglet - $825
This was highly recommended by my friends who came here before and this is the restaurant's signature dish. OMG, the piglet was prepared to perfection, crispy from outside right to the bones! The waitress didn't even need a knife but a fork to cut the piglet into small pieces. You could feel the crunchiness by merely listening to the cutting sound. I will definitely come back for this dish, you will love it once you try it. Highly recommended!!! Roasted Pineapple - $70
We ordered this to match with the piglet, hmm, it's okay, nothing special but a good match to the piglet for sure. Black Paella - $500
I thought it's just a giant grilled pan with squids, stupid me! I would say the texture of both squid and squid ink rice were good. However, they added too much salt, it's unbelievably salty, we said we could basically add another 2 bowls of rice to balance it...a pitfall here
题外话/补充资料:
Better to drive there since the public parking is just next door
