特地和男友雙雙放假來慶祝紀念日,已經很高興了。更高興的是可以到山頂玩玩,而且到靚景餐廳食個午餐。適逢有citi bank 信用卡的優惠,午市套餐有買一送一的優惠。我們分別點了黑松露菌闊麵和肉眼扒。侍者先送來一盤麵包,總共有三款,分別有三款醬料和牛油可蘸。我最喜歡吃的是娶娶的麵包條,脆卜卜的多吃也不覺得飽。男友最喜歡的是酥皮包,他不停口地吃了兩個。餐湯和salad我們都分別點了,餐湯是薯仔湯,我們都覺得一般而已。Salad是牛油果沙拉,賣相很美呢。雖然一向都不喜歡吃牛油果,但竟然覺得這個沙拉蠻好吃的,酸酸的很開胃。吃完前菜,等了一會主菜就上桌了。肉眼扒我們點了七成熟,但覺得有點乾,又沒有肉汁。附帶的醬汁味道不怎麼樣,幸好牛扒不用蘸汁已經有味道。闊條麵煮得有彈牙有嚼勁,配上菇菌很合口味。菇的種類都有好幾款,吃起來都不覺得單調。Set lunch還有甜品,是蛋糕配雪糕的穩陣組合。雪糕帶有點點酒味,味道不錯。反而蛋糕就不太討好,味道有點怪。Set lunch不包飲品,我倆都加錢點了咖啡和檸茶。檸茶的味道真的麻麻,咖啡都是一般而已。服務和環境都不錯,加上優惠,真的是完美的一餐。

吃完前菜,等了一會主菜就上桌了。肉眼扒我們點了七成熟,但覺得有點乾,又沒有肉汁。附帶的醬汁味道不怎麼樣,幸好牛扒不用蘸汁已經有味道。

闊條麵煮得有彈牙有嚼勁,配上菇菌很合口味。菇的種類都有好幾款,吃起來都不覺得單調。

Set lunch還有甜品,是蛋糕配雪糕的穩陣組合。雪糕帶有點點酒味,味道不錯。反而蛋糕就不太討好,味道有點怪。

Set lunch不包飲品,我倆都加錢點了咖啡和檸茶。檸茶的味道真的麻麻,咖啡都是一般而已。

服務和環境都不錯,加上優惠,真的是完美的一餐。

美國牛扒吩咐了Medium Rare,卻比坑爐烤得血水全無,似乎朋友做的比這裡好,伴碟的芝士薯餅,帶著新薯爽嫩,又有芝士香,配起帶鮮味的牛骨熬成醬汁,薯餅吸盡汁後,方才剩下多士這時候發揮了最大作用。

自己的番紅花意大利海鮮飯,材料擺陣較圓身意大利米更豐富,金光生光,甚華麗,意大利飯軟韌沒斷芯甚有海鮮味道,有水準,平日吃鬼佬飯海鮮料多轉贈朋友,是日卻因泊來大蜆、大蝦、生煎帶子而破例,是豐富得不得了的海鮮大餐。

甜品不算出色,似有還無的吃過,埋單時看到香港的大廚忙完飯市後不忘巡場,好吃的背後是由不少因素構成的。

以花旗信用卡結賬,折實後每人約一百八十,比起同是做新派菜的Sevva,這裡無食物及環境亦比較優勝。唯一不好,是侍應在電話中說有買一送一,卻沒說明必需以花旗卡結賬,差點出事。

假日和女友到山頂一遊, 纜車站的人龍圍了幾個圈, 餓得發荒的我們連忙跳上的士直飛山頂, 選了這裡醫肚. 走進餐廳裡祇有兩三檯客, 發現角位無敵海景位置未有人坐, 問侍應可否安排, 經理撥了電話交談幾句後便安排我們入坐, 估計是詢問熟客今天是否會來吧.景色真是沒話說, 看著這樣的風景, 食物的味道都會加分!!兩人點了一枝有氣礦泉水及兩個 BRUNCH SET (2 COURSE), 主菜分別挑了一個炭燒牛肉漢堡包跟脆薯, 一個原隻南瓜雜菜跟飯.未來主菜前, 有自家製牛油鬆包, 配襯蒜頭, 蕃茄醬和香草醬來吃, 十分不錯!!漢堡包賣相合格, 牛肉亦夠肉汁, 可惜麵包不是我們喜歡的類型, 有一點點扣分…南瓜雜菜的南瓜很鮮甜, 雜菜味道可以, 適合和白飯一起進食.甜品是檸檬芝士餅, 芝士和檸檬的味道十分配合, 不會過酸和過膩.餐後有咖啡或茶.服務不錯, 侍者們都很有禮貌, 在適當時間幫你倒水, 換餐碟.總結是合格, 但應可以做得更好, 例如為何沒有餐巾; 不要用快餐廳般的一小塊舖檯紙, 改用檯布會更配合餐廳格調; 這些都是小改進, 大回報的事宜.兩人吃了約HK$550.00, 價錢算合理.

I had a very good meal there in early dec, so went back tonight 22 Dec. Had oxtail soup, the soup taste bad with dead cow flavour, it comes with 2 pieces of oxtail, worse it, it has the skin of the tail around it, lots of fat, and I puked when I got home, probaby the taste and fat.Had beef flambee, too much alcohol, or not cooked property, the sauce taste bitter. It is nice of them to recook them.Service is excellent, maybe I am bad luck on a monday night that the chief cook is not there.

本身就好開心去食飯, 點知訂左枱, 都冇set 定枱,去到仲要等, 足足等左大半個鐘先攪掂, 原因帶埋隻狗去, 又要坐係外面吹風, 加上天氣又凍, 暖爐都冇個, 安排真係太差, 食左$2700 = 貼錢買難受, 可況我地係為左隻狗而去食飯, 一D對狗的安排都冇,當初就唔應該攪埋呢D狗餐, 根本你地都識去做同唔顧客感受, 下次邊度仲會有人去. 仲有個狗menu 要set到一定要人狗一個餐, 個主人都唔想食,都要夾硬叫. 我真係以後都唔會再去, 感覺真係俾人呃!搵笨!

Foods were good enough, creative and interesting Australian cuisines. Service was also O.K. with most of the staff, except one female server, who constantly ignored our request to hurry up with the desserts. We explicitly told them at the beginning of the meal that we had to hurry up to finish the dinner. But we waited more than thirty minutes for the dessert after we finished the main dish. We kept asking the female server, but she always said "It's coming" and didn't give a dam*. Instead, she

I was so angry and we cancelled the dessert (it was part of a course dinner). The manager was polite enough, however, he apologized for that and refunded for the dessert (only a small fraction of money, but I didn't wanna pay even a cent for the dessert I did not eat). This incident shows how a dinner that could have been a wonderful experience was ruined by a single server. Too bad.

又話平均消費$100-150,最後係$300至400一位!服務員的態度好差...把口有禮貌,但卻睇不起人似的!我們一家十幾人到這餐廳慶祝母親節,卻令各母親唔開心!d嘢食難食之餘,水又要收費,仲要唔使錢咁係咁倒比你,簡直浪費!(水都$600呀)仲要未食完就係咁問你要收碟,好影響人哋食慾啫!枱與枱的通道太窄,我身型適中,但也不能正面通過呀!一路我們也非常合作的控制著幾位5歲以下小朋友,只到埋單時,d小朋友忍不住要落地了(當家長的一定明白)!那位男職員走來跟我說:唔好意思,請你的小朋友不要喧嘩,不要跑,後面還有一枱客!咩意思呀?佢哋講嘢夠大聲啦!大人冇罪,小朋友反而唔比嘈呀?!嬲到震...嫌棄/歧視我的小朋友喎!太太太過份了!

A choice for a bit of pomp while still eating comfortably. I must say I was a bit taken aback when I learned it was a Max Concept restaurant but I decided to try anyhow. Service:
Talking of service, they have much of what you would expect from a solid service -oriented hotel restaurant. They move briskly but can take on ordering, dish placement, inquiries, and the like with ease. Perhaps also because I believe our server was the assistant manager as well, who was very well composed and knowledgeable. I also noted from the table on my right that they handled decanting with care and confidence. Perhaps it is the Peak after all.

Menu:
Sweet corn and crab soup, rambutan, crab betel leaf wrap and crispy crab wonton
Red pepper and roma tomato soup with crushed rocket pesto, buffalo milk mozzarella and crisp casalinga crouton
Airfreight pearl meat flash fried with shiitake, chive buds,ginger and soy, served on a mother of pearl shell (2 orders) (see食神歸位’s pic)
Roast field mushrooms with garlic and thyme
Pepper crusted sea bass with fennel ‘risotto’a rich fennel veloute and pinot noir essence
Roasted lamb rack, asparagus custard, cepes, pencil asparagus and lavender scented sauce
Crispy fried golden taro dumplings stuffed with white, milk and dark valrhona chocolate, vanilla custard and gold leaf
Caramelised rhubarb and ginger pudding, ginger panna cotta with rhubarb cloud
Orange blossom marshmallow rose water, Turkish delight, strawberry fairy floss and blood orange jubes

Taste:
The soups were good. The tomato soup has a tang that is complemented by the crouton. I am unsure if most ordinary diners would like the tomato soup however. More established foodies would appreciate its simple but classy taste.
More notably the corn soup was superb. A corn puree soup made with corn that reminds me of the fresh organic corn from the Saturday farm markets I shop at. A very modern take of the corn soup.
Side note- The head chef must have been a very detail oriented man. We noted the cutlery and dinnerware were well matched with the dish. Corn soup was served on a thin cup with a long narrow spoon, while the tomato soup on a semi-spherical bowl and round soup spoon that sits adroitly inside.
The signature dish is the Pearl meat. Very delightful dish presented on a mother of pear shell. The seared / fired shitake mushroom has a very meaty, smoky scent superior to the charcoal-fired fares popularized by localized japans restaurants which often are too much charcoal but wanting in taste.
The Sea bass was excellent. Very tender, the pepper crust and essence brings a light complement to the flavor, but not overbearing.
I would really rave about the lamb. I asked for medium rare(50%). The lamb cutlet was very fresh, came out all dark pink, and was tender any way I cut it (Sometimes meat needs to be cut on the grain to be more tender to taste…) It wasn’t bloody, not sinewy, not too soft. I didn’t like the cepes, so I ignored it. The asparagus custard was a bit offbeat, but can fare well with the lamb. Both might make the lamb dish a bit different, but really, I was onto the lamp rack.
I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t have the rhubarb and ginger pudding dessert when I requested. They were out of the panna cotta so I ordered the Taro Chocolate dumplings. Our server, in a manner usually found in gourmet US restaurants but not in HK, served us the rhubarb and ginger pudding dessert sans the panna cotta gratis.
Lets just say these taro dumplings were mini chocolate bombs. Very rich. I totally underestimated it by its size. Put the small taro sachet in your mouth and tell me about it on your next review.
The rhubarb and ginger pudding dessert was fantastic. Perhaps I am not well acquainted with rhubarb, but I will soon enough. I enjoyed the taste contrast and different textures playing with the palate. While the taro dumplings has a more traditional taste, the ginger pudding was more of very pleasant surprise.

More Side note: Truthfully, I was initially a bit upset that the server popped/spilled my champagne. It was a decent bottle of rose I picked to celebrate with my date. I do know that it was because I BYOB and it was not as chilled as it should be, and my server did notice this and chilled it more before he opened it. He did offer us 2 glasses of champagne while we waited for my bottle to chill. I appreciated his good serving manners. Everything else went smoothly. Sometimes it takes an accident to make the highlight.

Oh, PS! The petit fours was a very nice finish. Let your fingers bring the night to an end.

Great view –I sat next to the glass from ceiling to floor.

Summary –Very good food, Superb view and service.

Oh, PPS!!! I enjoyed the olive oil for the bread very much. (See DragonFire’s post for pic) Its taste has a very nice floral finish. Made me want to ask where I can buy some.

己聽過很多有關Pearl on the Peak 嘅報道,但對美心集團做西餐總有些戒心,主打嘅澳洲菜著重健康,亦找唔倒食神喜歡嘅法國菜果種油膩, 總括而言,風險太大。不過幾個月前,同啫哩人同佢屋企人上山頂登高,啫哩人主動出擊話要請客,食神自然卻之不恭。環境:餐廳唔算太大,枱與枱之間好近,絕對無fine dining應有果種privacy。不過佢個view的確非常好,啱哂情侶們慶祝特別嘅 occasion。前菜:鎮店之寶Pearl meat珍珠貝係必然之選。新鮮嘅珍珠貝肉跟雜菇一齊炒,味道同口感都一流。其他前菜煎鵝肝,燒帶子同燒龍蝦尾只屬中規中矩。主菜:主菜比前菜更為遜色,如果餐廳係sell海鮮為主的話,咁龍蝦天使麵、parma ham包John Dory、蟹籽鹽虎蝦伴大蝦燉蛋等就實在造得令人好失望。 以景觀嚟講,Pearl on the Peak 絕對deserve嚟一次,不過一次就真係夠啦~

己聽過很多有關Pearl on the Peak 嘅報道,但對美心集團做西餐總有些戒心,主打嘅澳洲菜著重健康,亦找唔倒食神喜歡嘅法國菜果種油膩, 總括而言,風險太大。

不過幾個月前,同啫哩人同佢屋企人上山頂登高,啫哩人主動出擊話要請客,食神自然卻之不恭。


環境:
餐廳唔算太大,枱與枱之間好近,絕對無fine dining應有果種privacy。不過佢個view的確非常好,啱哂情侶們慶祝特別嘅 occasion。

前菜:
鎮店之寶Pearl meat珍珠貝係必然之選。新鮮嘅珍珠貝肉跟雜菇一齊炒,味道同口感都一流。其他前菜煎鵝肝,燒帶子同燒龍蝦尾只屬中規中矩。

主菜:
主菜比前菜更為遜色,如果餐廳係sell海鮮為主的話,咁龍蝦天使麵、parma ham包John Dory、蟹籽鹽虎蝦伴大蝦燉蛋等就實在造得令人好失望。

以景觀嚟講,Pearl on the Peak 絕對deserve嚟一次,不過一次就真係夠啦~

前菜的配合很有心絲,分別是:清、濃、香口,各有特色亦互相襯托著。

主菜過了好一會才端上來,可能是因為當日人客較往常的多吧~

頂級牛柳明顯地是用明火的爐來烤,只用上一點點的鹽和黑椒來調味,在旁的是自製的肉汁,單是看到已經想立即開動了。至於松露薯蓉香味濃郁,不過我還是喜歡一片片微煎的那種煮法。

我要的是三成熟(照片內就是三成),肉質鮮嫩,肉汁亦極其豐富。同事的牛柳煮得比要求的熟了一點點,在這方面要減一點分數。

最後的甜品,在頂層的是焦糖,再下一層是椰子雪糕、已煮過的微甜香焦和最下面的酥皮在吃的時候還是脆身的。

雖然以午飯的價錢來說是貴了點,不過能邊看美景邊吃美食,仍算是值得的~

先說女友的那份午餐,前菜的味道配合得很好,蔬菜的味道沒有因為酸忌廉和醋而沒了味道。主菜的石班柳煎得皮脆肉滑,魚肉的味道還留在肉身之內,吃下去能夠感到魚的質味和鮮味。粟米汁的意大利飯帶甜而不膩,份量剛剛好。

至於我的前菜,西柚沒有了它的那份苦澀,反而因為混合了帶咸的調味而變得清甜。烤雞用上了雞胸肉,不過切成了薄片而不會覺得一般的那樣"孩"﹔還有的是牛油果跟薄荷葉,令到整個沙律口感更加清新,暫時來說沒有令人失望。

到了主菜,波蛋放在最上層,在它上面放了一點點黑松露菌碎,在飯的旁邊圍著帕爾馬芝士薄片。黑松露菌的香味真是比其他香料都強,單是放在我面前香氣已經一陣陣的向我撲過來。可惜的是我忘了帶照相機,沒有拍下來實在是可惜... T_T 細問侍應之下,他說這菜式是以完全攪拌來吃,於是我照著去做,芝士片因為飯的熱力而溶了。味道方面,除了因為黑松露菌的香味外,露荀的存在令到本來吸收了芝士而變得濃烈的意大利飯,增添了一點點的清新感覺。每一口的飯,感覺複雜但層次分明,實在難得。

甜品方面,一共有3小件:Brownie、栗子mousse杯和朱古力蛋糕。
Brownie的質感有點兒過乾,不過嘴嚼了一會便嘗到了一點點朱古力的味道。栗子mousse杯和蛋糕也只屬一般而已~

以一般的午飯價錢來算,到這兒的成本算是很高的了。一個2 course的set lunch要$168,3 course則要$198,交通費單程纜車要$22,從中環坐的士上去要大約$45。不過在天氣好的時候可看到的景色,再加上寧靜的環境,偶然一次也是一個不錯的午飯地點~

Heard of the no-so-good comments from various sources before we came, but I was truly satisfied with the brunch! There was a glass of sparkling wine and some sour dough bread with garlic spread (of which is the most disappointing of all since it tasted just like a very buttery loaf). The seafood platter was sizeable enough, with half a scampi (that's the best!), crab legs, oysters, clams, whelks (the rest were so so). I chose the "Toasty" as my main, without knowing that apparently it is the signature dish of the restaurant. It was truly tantalizing, particularly the toast in the middle so soaked with a very fragrant butter and slowly baked so thoroughly well that every inch is crispy yet fragrant. I had a taste of the sirloin too, and it was not bad either. Dessert platter with 4 kinds of small desserts was last, with the chocolate cake particularly outstanding, smooth and milky. The others were just so-so.

With the discount, only around $260 per head. A perfect way to spend a Sunday, I think!

One would normally expect a lot from this restaurant with its raving reputation but it was indeed a disappointment. Even though food was good I must say, service was below par. There were only 4 tables of customers (total of 12 people!) and despite a waiting staff of 3, the service was not attentive. We waited for 15 minutes before our warm water came and food was left at the side table for a few minutes before it was brought to us (and the side table was right next to us). What's worse was the

There were only 4 tables of customers (total of 12 people!) and despite a waiting staff of 3, the service was not attentive. We waited for 15 minutes before our warm water came and food was left at the side table for a few minutes before it was brought to us (and the side table was right next to us). What's worse was the constant mopping of the floor both besides and behind us while we dined - a scene one would only expect to see at a local joint at Mongkok or Lai Chee Kok. It was disturbing, let alone disgusting. We finished our meal with regular coffee which took them another 20 minutes to be served.

Oh and I did not mention the big argument of two waiters at the back of the restaurant over how to mop the floor!!!!

Overall I would say the food was very decent espeically given the price of the set lunch (HKD 168 for 2 courses and HKD 198 for 3 courses). You should however only go if you have no expectation of service - afterall the view is probably worth the price - if there is no pollution that day that is....

Food was not served together for all the guests at the tables but with rather long delays between them. When we finished main courses and the dishes taken away (they at least have done that), none of the waiters seem to know what to do and we were left just sitting at the table. We of course then call for the desert menus, then the menus came.

All of the above are signature of a 2- or 3-star bad restaurant, which unfortunately carries a 5-star price tag.

Decorations are mediocre (nothing like the impression of modern trendiness one gets from their print advertisements) in my opinion.

If you drive, one more thing to note is that you don't get the $40/3hr parking for over $100 spending here because they in fact don't belong to the Peak group properties.

It is a shame that the level of poor service has overridden over any positives we see here and this would be the last time we visit there.
