I ordered takeaway via openrice for a specified pickup time on Aug 25. I arrived 2 minutes late, the receptionist said “oh sorry I totally forgot to place the order in the kitchen, please come back in a while” 😴
When I picked up, it was a fast food lunchbox for one person. Their rice/noodles ($200-300 each) used to be put in a bowl shape container, size of a small saucepan which was nice. Now they squeezed things in a smaller box, lid pumped up almost open.
The noodles are so squeezed that they got sticked together.
Just counted, I had bought take-away 18 times from this restaurant before they changed the box.
When I asked if they changed the packing or reduced the portion…. Which I have no qualms as long as they were honest upfront. Neither would I have any issue if you were like this from day one.☝🏼
They said they have been like this, trying to tell me off. They said they are a big company with a system, they weigh their portion and must be consistent.🥱
Yes, I guess whatever can’t be squeezed in perhaps got consumed in the backroom.🤫
When I insisted it was not like this, the manager said the two boxes only differ in shape but volume is the same. (Then why bother to have 2 shapes?)🤪
When I insisted further, they said there were new staff in the kitchen and different people may use different containers.🧐
I wondered how come these frontline people kept defending the kitchen without checking inside, they didn’t have an answer.🥶
They clearly didn’t know what they were talking about 🤣🤣🤣 neither did I… me hitting a moving target.
Classic example of how junior staff delegates a problem up to the manager, and how a manager talks rubbish to send you away. 😅
