So, one day my girlfriend and I were in Elements and we saw this renovation in a shop... while we walking by she notice it is a restaurant that will open soon, and her reaction was, that this restaurant is so good in happy valley, I would love it as i love noodle wonton soup. Few days later we walked by and there it is... finally open... it seems to be a long queue so we decide to take a number and wait. as we wait we realize that not only the hostess is not staying by the entrance which makes most people uncomfortable and wondering what is going on, but luckily for us many left before they number came up as it seemed to be long and totally unorganized waiting line. our number finally came up and the first surprise is that it is freeeeezing cold in there. seriously, what is it in hong Kong to put the A/C so low everywhere? anyway my girlfriend keep raving about this place so we ordered our food. Granted it is an opening you expect a little bit of confusion... ok wait a minute... no I am wrong, it is an opening it should be overstaffed and manager should be seen on the floor, and even more considering it is not their first opening. Anyway, it seems to be run by a bunch of VTC students, and nothing wrong with that except that they are students and need to learn. it is way understaffed which makes everyone running around like chickens in the farm. well despite the cold of siberia we are feeling we manage to intercept one of those running people and order our food. overall the food is good, nothing fantastic nor memorable but decent. the price is correct and it is definitely a place i would like to go again to give it another chance. at the end, hard to judge a restaurant on a first time except if everything goes horribly wrong. but in this case, I believe the management is at fault and not all the staff trying their best to provide service to the costumers.
so to talk about food, I am sorry, i forgot to take pictures of the food that night. but we had a wonton noodle soup, with was not the worst i had but not the best either. Again, I believe it was hard to enjoy any food because of the surrounding this is why I want to go back and try it with a better mindset. we had some fried noodle with was good, although slightly oily for me, we had couple of dim sum with were good. My girlfriend liked the food more than i did, and it is normal. first of all because she would have a better appreciation than me as she is from hong kong, and know that food better than i do and what to expect. secondly, she is filled with memory of the restaurant in happy valley which makes it better than it really is most likely. but she admitted that it was not as good as it is in happy valley. For me it was good enough to want to go again, but maybe it is best to give the time to this specific outlet to mature a little bit. get the time to train the staff, organize it better, to have a better overall experience.
