Back in 2008 I remembered visiting a Turkish restaurant in Mui Wo. I remembered having a wonderful time there. Now in 2019, I wondered if this restaurant still exists? If so it is still as good as before? With the use of a popular internet search engine, I found there is this Bahce Turkish restaurant in Mui Wo. I looked at the photos of this restaurant and came to the conclusion this is that same Turkish restaurant I visited back in 2008. I decided to visit memory lane and took my family and friend there to have dinner.
On entering the restaurant, the decor and the atmosphere was just as I remembered it. It was homely, down to earth with some Turkish ornaments on the wall. We were greeted by the waiter who can speak Cantonese and English. He informed me the restaurant was still owned by the same Turkish owner.
That night between the four of us, we ordered Kebabs, Hot Mezze, Wraps, chicken wings and a pitcher of beer. We slowly drank our beer, conversations in full flow while we waited for our food to be cooked. The food arrived at our table, we started eating and quickly followed by silence as we were all busy eating the delicious food put in front of us. Everything was tasty, tender and yummy.
That night we were all full and very satisfied. It was good for value. We were all very happy customers. We liked the restaurant so much we went back every night for dinner during the rest of the days in Mui Wo.
In this fast pace and constantly changing Hong Kong, it was lovely to see Bahce is still here after so many years. A restaurant does not have to be posh, with modern decor, with high tech. electronic system or with a celebrity chef. It survives by simply providing consistent good food, good services at a good price.
Thank you Bahce. I hope to see you again in my next visit to Hong Kong.
题外话/补充资料:
Bahce also makes good milk shake and serve chips for the less adventurous palate.
