心大心細又想HH又想食咖哩… 但又要有佐酒小食... 在週日的銅鑼灣 除了dickens真的想不到別的地方第三次來這裡, 喜歡這裡很有英倫風味, 空間感大而且不是常常要等位, 雖然不喜歡啤酒但這裡選擇夠多, 一定能揀到O岩心水的飲品五點幾來到已經是HH了, 時間到八點, 很驚喜的見到餐牌有masala chicken想也不想就點了, 還點了cauliflower為小食, 想點blue mussels但是日竟然沒有供應….. 非常失望飲品方面叫了兩杯cocktail, 分別為David Copperfield 和Fantasy ($58 HH)先上飲品, David Copperfield是tequila跟grapefruit和soda, 粉紅色很有夏日氣息, 酸酸甜甜的很醒胃又解渴, 果然是杯不錯的dickens special另外Fantasy是我點的, 因為看到有coconut milk跟mango和vodka的配搭, 認為肯定錯不了, 但飲落普普通通沒什麼特別的, 而且texture有點thick和太甜, 不是款能配搭食物的cocktail之後來了cauliflower ($68

五點幾來到已經是HH了, 時間到八點, 很驚喜的見到餐牌有masala chicken想也不想就點了, 還點了cauliflower為小食, 想點blue mussels但是日竟然沒有供應….. 非常失望

飲品方面叫了兩杯cocktail, 分別為David Copperfield 和Fantasy ($58 HH)

先上飲品, David Copperfield是tequila跟grapefruit和soda, 粉紅色很有夏日氣息, 酸酸甜甜的很醒胃又解渴, 果然是杯不錯的dickens special

另外Fantasy是我點的, 因為看到有coconut milk跟mango和vodka的配搭, 認為肯定錯不了, 但飲落普普通通沒什麼特別的, 而且texture有點thick和太甜, 不是款能配搭食物的cocktail

之後來了cauliflower ($68), 成品比想像中少, 跟我們看到的fries / nachos / burger份量差好遠, 而且跟我想像的spiced cauliflower有點不同, 這個是充滿印度風味的

椰菜花浸在咖哩與蔬菜弄成的汁入面, 如不想太熱氣, 這個可算是健康之選
不過似乎不太適合在英式酒吧出現…

主菜curry chicken ($158) 來到, 才知道原來這裡的咖哩幾出名, 這款是厚身的咖哩, 辣度剛好, 少了椰汁的creamy, 大方的跟方多件雞塊, 吃後都差不多飽了, 不過我還是最喜歡KCC的咖喱

配角黃飯煮得麻麻地, 沒有味道的
Naan像是微波爐翻叮的—應該是Sunday brunch淨下來的

為著這個原因, 下次來到還是穩陣的叫fish & chips和chicken wings了

Cornish fish pie (I love fish pie)

Hopefully I will see Bubble and Squeak, clapshot on the menu someday because I really miss that and I shall make sure I will not miss the Robert burns night dinner as well!~
As well as Dicken's, The Chinnery does great British fare too (Scotch eggs, Welsh rarebit, Sherry trifle)!

Dicken's Bar is nicely laid out with the bar at one end and the other side for dining.

The portion of this was huge but it was simply delicious.
I know it is simply cheese and ham, but the York ham was soft and the saltiness was just right paired with deliciously melted montgomery cheese.

So far this is the only place in HK that I know serving these Glamorgan Patties.
They are filled with cheese and leek.
I tried them piping hot and the cheese inside was lovely and gooey, after it cooled down the filling was slightly firmer and the taste of cheese and leek was stronger.
Hence this is why I always say food tastes different at different temperatures.

I loved the fish pie, there were chunks of delicious fish in rich dill sauce, the potato mash on top was baked to perfection and it was lovely and velvety.

Manchester tart is a traditional English baked tart consisting of a shortcrust pastry shell, spread with raspberry jam, covered with a custard filling and topped with flakes of coconut and berries.
The tart here was gorgeous with delicious custard and dessicated coconut.
On the side there is clotted cream too.
Anyone with a sweet tooth will love this because the raspberry jam and custard is delicious.

Knickerbocker glory with hot chocolate sauce
The knickerbocker glory served here was a luxurious version of my usual one at Beefeater.
The one I had as a child was served in a narrower glass with plain softserve drizzled with syrup on top.

This dessert is probably popular with the Americans because they have lots of confectionary that has peanut butter.
This is another MUST EAT dessert too if you love PB~
The taste of this was really dreamy and it does not have that dryness that peanut butter has.
It is extremely velvety and creamy.

近來天色陰沈,令人總是提不起勁,可是為食的我一聽到有美食,就會雙眼發光,繼而提著疲乏的身軀出動。今次來到座落於銅鑼灣怡東酒店地庫的雙城吧,這裡一向也是區內有名的英式酒吧,啤酒款式多,也是一個不折不扣的睇波聖地。大約在個多月前,他們推出了Sunday Brunch,雖沒有冷盤海鮮供應,但卻是喜愛大魚大肉的朋友的好去處,所供應的食物都偏向英式。入座時可先點一杯Special Drink,可選喜力或嘉士伯生啤,亦有雞尾酒或汽水,而咖啡及茶則可無限添飲。頭盤之前,總喜歡來一點麵包,款式也不少,可配牛油及果醬,當然少不了英式鬆餅,而我就喜歡拿些早餐腸、脆煙肉及茄汁豆同吃,如果有炒蛋或班尼迪會更好。桌上還有生果杯及乳酪,正好為調和一下。頭盤沒有冷盤海鮮,是以凍肉及沙律為主,有煙三文魚、雞肉腸、火腿及三文魚芝士批等等,最喜歡油潤甘香的煙三文魚,煙燻味濃郁。沙律除有幾款外,亦可自行調配,喜歡濃味一點的可吃Mediterranean Seafood Salad,清新一點的又有Honey Drew & cucumber Salad,自行調配的材料也不少,當中還有鯷魚柳,很喜歡那種咸鮮味。個人感覺這兒與平常

頭盤沒有冷盤海鮮,是以凍肉及沙律為主,有煙三文魚、雞肉腸、火腿及三文魚芝士批等等,最喜歡油潤甘香的煙三文魚,煙燻味濃郁。沙律除有幾款外,亦可自行調配,喜歡濃味一點的可吃Mediterranean Seafood Salad,清新一點的又有Honey Drew & cucumber Salad,自行調配的材料也不少,當中還有鯷魚柳,很喜歡那種咸鮮味。

個人感覺這兒與平常不同的是,這兒的賣點不是頭盤,而是一系列熱盤,看上去,各式各樣都很美味。每星期其中一盤都有一款餡批供應,今次就是英式魚批,焗得微焦的薯蓉下,有著美味的魚肉餡料,質地不會水汪汪,又較為杰身,與薯蓉一起吃,是不錯的。

全日的焦點都落在原條燒牛柳,廚師切下去那一剎那,肉汁沿著刀流出,看見嫩紅的肉色,已知是何等的美味。毫不客氣的要了兩大片,外層烤得焦香,內裡嫩滑,肉味濃郁,還帶點甘香的肥膏,我也不曉得再如何形容下去,太美味了,大家還是親身去吃吃吧。

配菜除了Yorkshire Pudding外,還有牛油煮粟米及烤焗蕃茄等等,燒牛肉配上Yorkshire Pudding始乎是必然的,當Pudding吸入了肉汁及燒汁的美味,變得更好吃。另外,估不到以牛油浸著的粟米不會太過肥膩之餘,還很鮮甜。

來到這兒,不能不嘗試另一名物 – 咖哩。他們的咖哩的香氣,只要打開蓋子,遠遠也能聞到,非常吸引。咖哩香味濃郁外,味道也十分好,辣度恰到好處,配上NAAN,以手拿來蘸著吃,更是特別好吃。

吃了這麼多,將要以第二個胃迎接甜品,款式真的不少,有一款名叫Lemon Grass Ginger baba’s 以一支泵仔插著,裡面盛載著冧酒,吃前泵入少許冧酒,濕濕潤潤的,有趣的嘗試。當然其他款式的甜品也不錯,那個Warm mixed berries pancake pudding由bread轉為pancake,更加入了雜苺來提升味道。

最後,餐廳經理更拿出了數款瓶裝啤酒給我們品嚐,由淡味至濃郁,逐一逐一來品嚐,其中一款名叫Mountain Goat,有股花蜜香,入口順滑而清新。另外,這兒更有在外較少有的Edelweiss生啤,我也是經食友的推介而嘗試,果然是一隻好啤酒,那股花香味道歷久不散,而且泡沫及水泡細緻幼滑。

論卡士,這兒少了冷盤海鮮,確是少了點吸引力,但燒牛肉及咖哩的質素很高,已可蓋過一切,加上實惠的價錢,是Sunday Brunch的另一個好選擇。

再來一碟可說是大雜匯,Mediterranean Seafood Salad (Calamari ring、mussel and shrimp) 加上粟米粒及Smoked Salmon(煙三文魚),用上甜椒來配搭,帶來一絲清新的感覺,Calamari ring雪白而嫩滑,很好吃,mussel肥美可口,粟米粒簡單的甜香,與及煙三文魚的油份豐富,煙熏味幽香,都足以令人吃不停口。

舀了一碗Borsch,幾款菜蔬切得幼細,湯底清而不辣,很自然的果甜味慢慢散發,到最後竟然一口氣再乾了兩碗。

Grilled tomato 及 Corn on cob with butter,挖空了的蕃茄件,放入粟米粒及芝士,很喜歡這個的口感,而粟米件滿有牛油香氣,入口清甜,可能是用上超甜粟吧!

店內更提供坊間少見的啤酒,Edelweiss是奧地利啤酒,在色澤上呈現出淡雅的金黃色,還未呷入口,已嗅到一陣清幽的花香,由於酒精濃度只不過5%,多喝了兩口,只覺有少許回甘的感覺,苦澀味一點都不重,可以說是女孩子的恩物。

喝下兩口啤酒,胃口又開了,拿少許茄汁豆、煙肉、火雞肉腸、Fish Pie與及牛油檸檬汁魚柳;茄汁豆大路貨色,煙肉烤得香脆,咸香有嚼勁,火雞肉腸只是一般,Fish Pie中的薯蓉十分幼滑,有點奶香的誘人味道,就連對薯蓉一般的我亦開始改觀了,最後的魚柳蘸上了lemon butter sauce之後,由平凡變得惹味,值得一試。

大家還記得石崗軍營嗎?當年餐廳的咖喱遠近馳名,雖然並非英國食品主流,但都起了舉足輕重的作用,而味道是偏向印度及巴基斯坦,此刻就自製一份咖喱餐, Chicken Makhani、Lamb Curry、印度香飯及Naan Bread,可能是選料問題,雞肉有點結實,而醬汁混和了蕃茄,既微酸又辛辣,當然用Naan Bread蘸點來吃,很滋味,而Lamb Curry似乎未夠羶,相信是個人的口味,但純香料的辣味,來得霸道但吸引,辣度更是漸次浮現,很有層次感,各有不同風味。

吃過咖喱後,最好是來點甜品,約略一看甜品吧檯,芒果跟Blueberry兩款Panna Cotta,軟綿香滑,小小的一杯,份量恰到好處;Lemon Grass Ginger Baba's很趣緻,插上一枝小小的塑膠針筒,當進食前,先將針筒內的冧酒注入,份量多少可以自己控制,玩味大於一切。

英國式的沙拉,如果沒有沾上歐洲的風格,就是簡單的菜加沙律醬,再加以各式各樣的 Ham,cole meat,smoke salmon,既輕快又涼快的沙律,是美味的一個開端。

英國人非常之注重早餐,而且他們全日都可以食早餐,所以英國餐會出現 "All day Breakfast" 這一個東西。是日的自助餐,我也特意地配搭出一份 All Day Breakfast 給自己享用。

香腸,煙肉,菇加茄豆,只差兩隻太陽蛋而已,我從熱食的選擇堆砌了這一個早餐,這香腸,是英式的火雞肉腸,肉感油感一流,焗到香脆的煙肉,非常之香口,菇加茄豆也味道不錯。可是這早餐是欠完美的,除了沒有雞蛋之外,沒有用上蘑菇也是遺憾。

為何要把英國食物同咖喱扯上關係呢? 原因就是英國曾經統治過印巴一帶,當主權歸還當地人民之後,殖民地的人民,大多都比較喜歡英國的管治,所以紛紛都跑到英國來謀生,現在英國有不少市鎮,已有超過五成的人口,為印巴裔人,而他們,亦把咖喱帶到英國並加以改良,成為了英國特式的咖哩。

忠於印巴人的飲食文化同宗教,英國並沒有咖喱豬扒或咖喱牛腩。承接了印巴人的口味,再加以改良,成為了一個有豐富咖喱汁,而且非常肉感的咖喱。是口的咖喱羊肉,香料十足而且肉羶香萬分,雞肉的用了普通的咖喱,香料味道沒有那麼辛口,是比較柔和同香口的咖喱,不太辣。食咖喱配合 Naan Bread,更加之惹味。

星期日,英國人的傳統是烤肉,所以在英國的飲食文化詞語中,出現了 Sunday Roast 的這一個名詞。是日的是 Roast Steak,是原條的西冷牛扒。倏法就是把整條的牛扒醃好,直接而且原條地向焗爐拋入去,焗好就可以切片。此舉,可以保持到肉的 Raw,及令到肉的外層盡吸香料及醃料的精華,也可以把肉的血汁,完整地保留起來。

我要了一片,再加上 Yorkshire Puddings及淋上 Gravy。英國傳統式的烤肉,就是這麼的簡單。牛肉的外邊咸香而脆,內心就充滿了鮮甜而帶點腥味的鮮牛肉汁。唯一不好的是 Yorkshire Pudding 烤得太過燶。

自助餐,當然有充足的甜品供應,可是我吃肉太多,飲啤酒也太多,肚子再也沒有空間品味這兒的甜品。不過,單是看樣子,已經可以說給我聽,這些甜品十分之美同好食。當中的焗布甸,我可以申明說,我 missed 了。

來酒吧,當然是要品味啤酒,我們是日也選擇了在香港少有機會飲到的啤酒,暢飲一番。白啤,是沒有經過徹底過濾過的啤酒,其麥香味,比起一般清澈見底的啤酒高好多。Edelweiss 同 Kronenbourg Blanc,前者是奧地利的啤酒,後者是法國的啤酒,這兩種啤酒的味道相差不太,都是麥味比較香的種類,味道帶有果香,有少少酸酸的發酵味道,非常之特別。

之後,酒吧經理 Chris,遞來了幾瓶小酒莊的 Ale,這些特別的啤酒品牌,大多是比利時的出品。可是一時花多眼亂,連口中的味蕾也亂了,總之這些啤酒,味道都比起一般的 Lager 濃郁,而且各自有獨特的味道風格,喜愛品嚐不用國家啤酒的朋友,這 Dickens Bar 大可以令你感覺滿足。

Burns Day is more of a Scottish and then Irish celebration to commemorate the great Scottish Poet Robert Burns and is celebrated on his past birthday. Scottish Burns Supper Haggis & Neeps – $198
There are no Tatties here but it was still all decent.. Haggis nowadays are mostly pre-prepared in a sauce casing and sold as is, rather than cooked in an actual lamb’s stomach. This was flavourful and slightly more gamier than my previous review. It was enjoyable. ~ 8.5/10

又來這一帶吃飯,慣性的一定先來個happy hour。來到Dickens Bar,場內播放球賽,是球迷之選。今天不太想喝紅白酒,少有的來個Cider,入口甜甜的,帶生果香,加上氣泡十足,喝一口人也即時舒暢起來,是一個好地方。

The food is rustic, down-to-earth and delicious, and a famous curry buffet lunch is also offered at $198 (weekday)/ $228 (weekend) per person (and at half price for children). It seems not such a bad idea at all to hit Dickens Bar at some point in winter!

(1) My friends and I were not entirely in the mood for fried food that day, but we felt that we could not leave a gastro pub without ordering some fish and chips, and we were right. The Beer battered fish and chips with salad and tartar sauce ($198) was brilliantly done – the batter was thick, crunchy and satisfying, and the fish was tender and juicy, just like how it should be. There was a generous serving of chips on the side, which were really tasty, and scarily not one of them was left uneaten…

(2) Another recommended dish is the Dickens Bar burger with smoked bacon, organic egg, cheese, pineapple, tomato, garden greens, crispy onion ring and side of chips ($188). The beautiful sunny side up immediately got our attention and made us feel really hungry. Instead of plain buns, the burger was sandwiched between cheese buns, which were scrumptious. The bacon was thick and wholesome, and what impressed us the most was the burger patty, which was incredibly fresh and full of natural beef flavours!

(3) Seeing that one of my favourite dishes, Confit duck leg with braised lentils and jus ($188), was on the menu, I couldn’t resist ordering it, but it turned out not to be as good as the other dishes. While the skin was gorgeously fried so that it was thin and crispy, the meat inside was on the dry side. The jus tasted all right, but the lentils were too soft and mushy.

(5) While the boys were busy drowning themselves in beer, the girls ordered the much more civilised Rekorderlig Strawberry Lime (Medium sweet cider 500ml, 4%, $56). Dickens Bar以新面貌示人,我實在太喜歡英國式的 Modern Gastro Pubs,正! 酒吧擠滿客人,十居其八九是老外。睇波格外有氣氛!已吃過晚飯,今晚點了Nachos (烤玉米片), 牛絞肉醬、酸奶油、Mozzarella cheese等跟Nachos是絕配,咀嚼感豐富!牛絞肉醬,美味!最愛Mozzarella cheese,新鮮!滿滿的乳香再加上奶油般的甜美口感,配上Nachos的鬆脆,那個滋味可是千金不換的美味呢!一切水準依然! 加 Whiskey Coke,夠whiskey ,正! 這夜盡興。

我最愛的雙城吧,早前封館數月裝修,現今以新面貌示人,沒有昔日的運動氣息,反而更像現今新興的Gastropub。又是與球迷朋友們來看足球比賽的一夜,晚上吃早餐無須稀奇,因為英式早餐是全天候,基本上是通識,無須再解釋。用料較為精緻,連牛扒,羊架都用上,欠了焗豆,磨菇,薯餅,我反而不太慣,最欣喜的是用上血布甸,在英國是常見之物,反而在香港就不常見。炸魚薯條沒有變,所謂的Chips依然是Fries,恕我醃尖聲悶,我對英式的Fish and Chips,一向是有要求的。其它,少不了一眾生啤,我喜歡雙城吧的原因,除了氣氛好,服務周到,生啤選擇多,是其中之一。足球轉播的晚上,如果是強隊的戲碼,便要收最低消費,基本上,兩杯啤酒,已經合乎最低要求。

Previously I went before the renovation for the curry buffet, but it was only available on weekdays which was quite inconvenient.Now it is available on Saturdays as well.I was looking forward to the pork terrine but it wasnt there that day, but the roast potatoes were good and I was surprised they had the Philipino dessert {Brazo mercedse} which is meringe with some custard in the middle .The muffins were also good as well.

I was looking forward to the pork terrine but it wasnt there that day, but the roast potatoes were good and I was surprised they had the Philipino dessert {Brazo mercedse} which is meringe with some custard in the middle [The exact stuff I got from Quezon].

I spotted some mispelt words on the menu!!!

The first thing I did afterwards was to go to the curry buffet table, where samosas, bajhi, pakora, popadoms, naan breads and Pilao rice are on offer, along with fish tikka, lamb, chicken and vegetable curries in copper pots. It was complete with raita and chutney. Pretty promising.

Here I was almost spoilt for choice with well not that many salads but also the classic British food like Pork Terrine encased in Short Crust Pastry, Spiked with Egg and served with Cornichons and Branston Pickle. It was like eggs wrapped in sausage and crust pastry, what a savoury treat but just that I couldn't have too much of it as it was rather filling. Salad is one of my favourite buffet items and I had a few trips of those, but on this particular plate pictured the anchovies all got stuck together and were very salty.

I tried almost everything there, and surprisingly, I liked the fish tikka best as the curries suffere the same problem of being too salty. Nevertheless the naan breads and Pilao rice were nice.

As I don't eat beef I didn't get to try the carving station.

I am never a big fan of hot dishes at buffets. But if you see Pan Seared Barramundi the fish's worth trying if the buttery sauce isn't an issue for you. The mushroom soup was, well, again too salty. So they suppose people to wash all this down with a couple of beers?

Instead I wanted to try the wines from the 'vending machines' for sip-sized tasting portions but at the time of my visit (mid-April) the machine was not available for use yet.

Apart from this slight disappointment, the dessert table at least gave me a small pick-up.
Caramalised Banana Éclair - the éclair was too biscuit-like in texture, not that good.
Cardamom Crème Brûlée - not very spicy, okay as a ordinary crème brûlée.
Almond Charlotte - almondly and moist, one of the best of the day.
Poached Pear on Shortbread - eaten separately better than together.
Ricotta Cream Cone - cone pastry was too hard.

Citrus Jelly Terrine - more like jelly than 'terrine', a refreshing treat.
Cherry Clafoutis - a French dessert similar to bread pudding, it was dark cherries baked in a pancake batter, served with vanilla custard sauce. Soft, moist, sweet and juicy, I was fortunate to have saved the best dessert till the last.

After all this was a good deal for a casual pub lunch at $198+10% (as at time time of visit), and I hope to try out more of its pub food items in the near future.

Many Draught Beers on tap and bottled Specialty Beers are available here -
The overall choice seems to have grown substantially from before, especially the rarer to find British and Belgian beers. If you're a beer lover this comes highly recommended with their newly expanded list.

Pork Rillettes en croute with Spiced Chutney -
This is the Canapes version, which is smaller and not really served en croute in pastry, but the rillette was still quite fresh in pork taste and very well made, pairing well with the sweet and spicy chutney condiment.

Mixed Beans Quesadilla & Chicken Quesadilla -
The canape sized bites once again, are a little different to the normal flatter versions, which they serve as a la carte here with Mexican influence. The taste of these were pretty good with big chunky pieces of meat and a good tortilla wrap. 8/10

Cumberland Sausage with Onion Jam, Mash and Mustard Jus -
The normal serving size will be that recognizable long and curled sausage of course. This tasted fine but could have had more mustard jus in my personal opinion... 7/10

Prawn Croquettes with Preserved Lemon and Harissa Mayonnaise -
Just the recipe itself sounded very intriguing. When this arrived, I thought it was fried well but there wasn't too much prawns taste, especially when comparing with Bubba Gump's prawns. The slightly tangy and spicy mayo was very good however and overall could be even more balanced! 6.5/10

Beer Battered Cod and Chips with Tartar Sauce -
This is again the smaller version, but I was a little baffled by the fact that these carried a bread crumbs like external, rather than a real batter coating which is smoother and fried batter like. The tartar/tartare sauce was a bit lacking in pickles and eggs taste too. I think they could really improve on this dish as a Beer Battered Fish and Chips dish is how everyone judges British pub food these days! It could also do with some mushy peas infused with mint, and a better tartar sauce! 6/10

Organic Beef Burger with Hot English Mayonnaise, Tomato Chutney w Chips -
The chips were really good and hot fluffy. The burger bun had a cheesy top, which was also unique and delicious. The beef patty became the centre of a debate subject - it carried too little grill marks and caramelization and looked a bit pale, like it was cooked on too-low a heat.
On the other hand, the beef taste was quite excellent and appreciated. All they need to do is darken it a bit more on the surface which shall give it that extra flame-grilled aroma.

Confit Duck Leg with Braised Lentils and Jus -
At only $188 a pop this is good value for money, as the duck confit was cooked really spot on well and the lentils absorbed the duck jus, making this a very complete dish in harmony! The duck skin was slightly crispy and overall wasn't too salty or dried, it was very well balanced. The dish of the night for me. 8.5/10

Indian Chicken Bhuna - Served with Rice, Naan, Raita and Chutney -
Dickens Bar has always been famous for their curries and curry buffets. With the recruitment of an Indian Chef looking after this department they are into safe hands here. Importing in exotic ingredients such as Indian black salt to cook their curries, curries are an essential staple in any British pub but you can't seemingly find it much in other places except The Chinnery, the saffron rice is nice and fluffy here with a decent herbs and spices taste. The Chicken Bhuna is tender and can be cooked even more richer to bring out its best! 7/10

Lemon and Lime Tart with Limoncello Sorbet and Roasted Macadamias -
This came looking surprisingly smart in presentation for a Gastro Pub's dessert, and at $68 sounded like a bargain. The slightly alcoholic Limoncello sorbet was fantastic and a novelty. The Lemon Tart's pastry crust is the thinner type, and the lemon and lime curd was refreshing yet balanced. A good tart indeed and more curd like than some others in town. 7/10

Chocolate Slice with Strawberry Compote and Frangelico Cream -
Another promising recipe on paper, and it turned out to be even better than the tart above. The chocolate slice was truffle-cake like in texture and rich enough in chocolate flavours. It worked with the strawberry compote. I could certainly do with more of that Frangelico cream !! 8/10

The Beer selection was fantastic for Hong Kong's pub standards. The Food recipes are approachable but modernised British pub grub and quite promisin, although some of the described flavours weren't too apparent in the end result, but we will have to re-try some dishes at the normal portions to know. Thanks for the Invitation indeed, and we look forward to receiving quality British gastro pub food in the future, and many more great curries!

重開後的Dickens Bar,還有甜品供應,始終現在也多了女性喝酒,其中愛吃甜的也有。這晚吃了其中兩款,檸檬青檸撻配檸檬酒雪葩及烤夏威夷果仁,$68及朱古力蛋糕配士多啤梨醬及榛果酒忌廉,$68。先吃口味相對較淡的檸檬青檸撻,檸檬餡料質感較為挺實,口感介乎吉士與啫喱之間。味道微酸,個人愛吃酸,所以喜愛酸度再高點。撻底微脆,但有點偏硬,相反旁邊的檸檬酒雪葩感覺更清新,還更吸引。

朱古力蛋糕配士多啤梨醬及榛果酒忌廉,賣相討人歡喜,味道及口感更令人驚喜,沒想過在酒吧內也吃到不錯的甜品。蛋糕像松露朱古力般很柔滑,味道濃郁,可可味甘醇微甜,跟上酸酸的士多啤梨醬,令人回味。
