黎親Alfie 10 個有9 個都會吃呢度嘅fish & chips, 等我今日黎寫寫佢其他味菜啦~Alfie 都算貴價,吃個fish & chips 都幾百, 無計, 係置地入面會平得去邊。。。但Alfie 是約會見客嘅好地點。今次叫嘅係roasted pork belly. 一客有兩條pork belly 卷住上, $300. 用刀叉切開卜卜脆, 質地似中式d 燒乳豬。 入口, 好。 好。味! 脆卜卜表面但入面d 肉係超級嫩口, 一點兒也不乾, 而家塊pork belly 肥瘦平均,忍唔住一口接一口吃鬼晒佢~下次黎Alfie 可以試試呢個菜

If you don't know the exact location and accessing from the ground level, it may be quite difficult to find it as the entrance is in fact via the Alfred Dunhill store, and going up a flight of stairs to the first level. Although I haven't been to the restaurant before, in fact the place is not new to me. For those of you who have been a customer of UK wine merchant BBR you may know that they used to have a shop at that same location. When I was studying for my WSET Level 4 it was where I spent a lot of weekends doing wine tasting. Time really flies...

The decoration is a modern British bar on one side with some dining tables on the other. A bit noisy but should be expected from such a setting, we had a decent table looking over the footbridge between Prince's Building and Alexander House which is reasonably comfortable. The night was also not too busy.

On the food I ordered Tomato Soup with mozzarella and Ivy ordered Pumpkin and Lemongrass Soup with prawn skewer, which were quite nice. I liked the sourdough very much but because we did order quite a lot I could not take another slice.

Appetizer for sharing was Prawn and Dorset Crab Cocktail, as well as Seared Hokkaido Scallops. Frankly both were not particularly impressive, and the scallops were simply too salty for me. There were also some liver sausages(?) accompanying the scallops which reminded me a bit of those Chinese ones...

The mains we had the signature Fish and Chips, as well as Roasted Barbarie Duck Breast. While some friends were saying the fish and chips were some of the best in town, I found them a bit too oily for my liking (sorry!) and the tartare sauce is also not sour enough to balance the oiliness of the fish. A credit to Alfie's for using fresh halibut, however. The duck breast was only just so-so. Overall on the food it was quite disappointing. I had two glasses of Newton Vineyard Chardonnay from Napa, which were typical California Chardonnay with good oakiness and body, and did pair quite well with the dishes ordered.

The service was nice in general, with the serving of wine and water, speed in serving dishes, cleaning up and checking in with us on the food quality all done professionally and up to standard. The waitress did offer to take a photo for Ivy and me which I thought was one good touch.

Finally on the price. It was a full meal and we could barely move afterwards, as each dish was of quite big portion. Total $1,591 for two, considering the food quality and everything, not very good value over money.

My overall rating for the restaurant is 48/100.

3月過後,又嚟到得閒死唔得閒病嘅月份,原因好簡單,又係趕deadline 應付auditor 嘅時間。 老闆為咗要安撫我哋,所以專誠請客帶我哋嚟到Alfie's by Kee.入到餐廳,感覺唔錯,滿場只見洋人跟笑聲,幾relex. set lunch嘅價錢唔算貴,2 course 係$290, 3 course 係$340. 以地段及價格嚟睇, 都算合理。 但若包括食物質素嘅話,就有少少遜色。我哋點咗4set 3 course. Main course, 我點咗Spring chicken, 另同事就點咗white snapper fish. Spring chicken 食落好juicy, 又冇咩骨,所以食起嚟唔太麻煩,我仲可切啲同同事一齊分享,太好啦!

但嚟到white snapper fish, 令我哋有幾大嘅失望。 首先魚唔太有味道,而且似overcook, 唔滑口
, 老闆都有微言!
好彩後嚟上嘅something sweet - orange posset with passionfruit 挽回不少失地。
賣相好精緻,味道清晰, 帶有清新橙味嘅奶凍配上酸甜passionfruit sauce, 即時醒哂, 再飲埋杯coffee, 呢餐lunch 圓滿結束。
整體嚟講,alfie's 環境relex, 令人感到自在,唔太焗促。 但部分菜式雖再改善。 anyway, 多謝老闆嘅辛勞中的一點甜

Ambience was comfortable enough and service was polite and attentive.we had a set lunch at $300 per person for appetizer, main course and coffee. A bit pricey considering the food.Pumpkin soup wasn't hot enough and was too sweet and creamy. However, teh crabmeat and avocado on garlic toast was good, light and refreshing.the main course as the same. the beef cheeks were so soft and tender and was salted just right. teh crispy bits provided the perfect texture.But the fish (with shrimp and clams)

在胡想之際,女侍應把 Fish & Chips 送來了!斜斜倚著薯條的炸魚,好像是在發嗲的少女,而三種顏色鮮艷的醬汁就仿如炸魚的花裙子,畫面甚為漂亮!

炸魚的粉漿鬆脆、不油、入口輕盈,只是某端的彎角位置,粉漿略為厚身。切開炸魚,最愛看到內裡雪白、紋路清澈細緻的魚肉。比目魚的魚質入口糼細爽滑,還不時感到輕輕滲出的魚脂,滋潤柔美,Fish & Chips 果然達到美味的首選!

Fish & Chips 備有茄汁、青豆蓉和 Tartar Sauce 三款醬汁。當中最突出的是青豆蓉,它的綿滑的質感與豆香,令我想起英國既便宜又美味的青豆!

牙齒一咬,隨即感受得到 Muffin 充滿彈性的討人質感,使我一振!伴隨 Muffin 而來和牛的濃香與滿溢的牛脂,再配合溶化的芝士,味蕾全給那份濃濃郁郁的味兒佔據。

Alfie's Muffin Burger 用料真不遜,不過怕膩如我的朋友,緊記要與友人分享,否則難以負荷!

順道一提的是 Alfie's Muffin Burger 的炸薯條較 Fish & Chips 的幼身,質感當然不及粗身的理想,不過味道同樣很不錯!

置身「Alfie」,如同處於一個玻璃溫室內,無論眼看外間風雲變色、雷電交加、風狂雨暴,處境也是安然無恙。誰不願一輩子過著安穩閒逸的生活,無奈遇上大時代的沖擊,溫室的安然埋沒不了人性和良知,更驅使我們大步踏出溫室外,肩負作為一個香港人的使命,與大家風雨同路、並肩作戰!

2014年9月28日傍晚,警方施放催淚彈驅散抗爭人士,一共87顆催淚彈和無數堅強抵擋的雨傘,一幕幕震撼的嚇人場面,令不少香港人心痛欲裂,及後的一切一切...........留下來給歷史定奪!

The fish and chips is quite nice here and the portion is quite big (I ordered normal portion, they do have a big portion option).  Big chunk of fish and the batter is crispy, the vinegar powder is a nice touch.  Heard the head chef has changed but it doesn't seems to affect the overall quality and taste.  Not a cheap option for fish and chip but quite value for money for a decent lunch in Central and a nice place to go with friends and clients.

Hold on! It's not dunhill. This door is going to restaurant called 'Alfie'. Not via app, I didn't realize it till at this moment. haaaa, I am so silly! Don't laugh at me, you may be same as me. If you wanna meet work partners in a decent place, I guess here is a good place. Beside you can bump into many businessmen/women or charming people, here gives a classy sofa and then you are looking at Central busy street via window with your drink.

Lunch set provides 2 choices - 1 is hkd280 with 2course i.e. starter and main and 1 is hkd 380 with 3 course i.e. starter, main and dessert. Dessert is very important in a meal such that I picked 3 course one although it must make me very full ! 

Starter, I picked the chilled avocado crabmeat soup. Hm...crab is fridge one....not too fave for me..

Main course, sea bass with potato mash. I love the potato mash with tasty butter. Fish portion is big for me and fresh. 

Dessert is pudding. I expected that is chilled custard pudding but it's hot cake with vanilla source. The source is aroma but too sweet as a whole. If putting less sweet, I must love it much more.

Coffee is lilly which is good to taste with sweet dessert. 

Service is not such bad as others said. 

Recommended that you should book in advance if you hit the busy time! And maybe it's better to try "fish and chip" here , instead of set menu.

最後一站,我們來到Alfie’s,繼續調製特色雞尾酒。美女調酒師為/ 教我們創作一款名為「LANDMARK PRINCE’S」的雞尾酒。成份有香檳、帶什莓香的VSOP、干邑橙酒以及肉桂等…氣泡緩緩的上升,那金黃的燦爛,感覺就是奢華高貴。呷一口,酒味強烈,外柔內剛的性格,更迷人。四幢華廈的精彩旅程,眨下眼就到尾聲。很享受,很想繼續品嚐其餘的食府。

Landmark Prince’s Cocktail 置地太子雞尾酒 $180: 8.5分, 是日我們喝到的是置地太子雞尾酒. 對, Alfie's by KEE位處置地太子, 這客雞尾酒叫作置地太子雞尾酒, 合情合理. 成份包括有香檳, 帶雜莓香味的軒尼詩V.S.O.P, 干邑橙酒 Grand Marnier以及肉桂等等, 酒精濃度相當不少, 我喝了幾口, 已經面紅得不得了. 其實這款雞尾酒帶氣泡, 入口味道帶清新的雜莓香味以及肉桂味道, 還有橙酒的甜美感, 是幾複雜的感覺.

雖然聖誕節已過, 但還有不少值得記下的活動, 如Alfred Dunhill的Christmas Party就是相當熱鬧的一夜, 也要在此謝謝有關方面的邀請. 是夜的Christmas Party是在Alfie's by KEE, 場內人山人海, 很有節日氣氛.先來杯白酒, 為這個夜晚加添一分醉意. 其實除了白酒, 還有不少其他選擇, 真的教人不醉無歸.吃的方面, 選擇也有不少, 如煙三文魚, 分別有原味和香草味的, 質感對辦, 是這晚的亮點. 而幾款批都是幾鬆脆的, 令人滿意. 另外, 火腿肉質嫩滑, 帶點鹹香, 也是水準之作.一向覺得聖誕派對的食物不是重點, 氣氛才是更重要, 但Alfred Dunhill這個派對無論在食物水準以及氣氛皆是幾突出的, 怪不得大家也相當盡興呢.

一向覺得聖誕派對的食物不是重點, 氣氛才是更重要, 但Alfred Dunhill這個派對無論在食物水準以及氣氛皆是幾突出的, 怪不得大家也相當盡興呢.

From the moment we made our booking to the time that we left, we were attended to by surly, unfriendly staff.  During our entire meal, not one staff smiled nor even uttered a "thank you" when taking my credit card.  All in all, a terrible dining experience.  As for the food, the fish & chips were pretty average, and not worth the price.  The fish batter was very oily.  Missing home, we also ordered Yorkshire Pudding.  These were not very nice at all.  The sea bass that we also ordered was slight

In light of the poor service, we shall certainly not be going back to this restaurant.

It took us a while to locate the entrance. The main entrance was through the Dunhill shop at Prince's building.

Interestingly, I noticed a lot of French speakers having lunch here. 


Menu:

The menu had various types of pan fried fishes, bangers and mash , mussels and a number of roasts and grilled meat.

My colleague and I ordered fish and chips. You could choose "Small" (1 piece of fish) for HK$170 and "Big" for HK$280 (2 pieces.) Both of us choose big.

You could add some sides, such as bubble and squeak, Yorkshire pudding and some salad - each at about $55 per item.

We also ordered a bottle of still water since there appears to be no tap water.

When I first had a taste, the batter was rather fluffy. I felt that the batter had more oil than batter or beer. It wasn't a serious problem for the first few bites. The haddock had a lot of fish oil and was rather soft.

Some herbs and (rather oddly) some sugar and salt were sprinkled above the batter.
 

As the batter cooled down, the whole dish felt really oily. My friend couldn't finish his. 
The chips were pretty good though. Those were crunchy on the outside and soft inside.


To conclude:

Perhaps the fish & chips here was just slightly better than Harrington's. The "Fish Bar" was better than this. Of course, nothing beats "The Chippy" so far. Those served at "Jimmy's Kitchen" are made of garoupa, also good.

HK$711 for two including service. Pricey.

Wouldn't mind having a drink at the bar though, which was nicely partitioned off.

At the end of the day, as Alfie would say,

"What's it all about?

Pies, back in the days, were often brought as lunch in England as the crust could protect the ingredients inside the pie, which made it suitable to be carried around. Chef Neil Tomes managed to give this ordinary item a luxurious spin by using only the finest ingredients in it - smoked Hebridean scallops, Scottish salmon and North Atlantic langoustine gave this pie mouthwatering flavours, while a champagne cream sauce brought the different elements together. The crust was fantastically flaky (though it apparently was made using a 3:2 flour to butter ratio), and the crisp, delicate asparagus was a great match with the vibrant flavours of the pie.

來到這個藝術盛宴的第三站, 大家就稍移玉步, 來到太子大廈這邊, 為的是一試Alfie's by KEE這家店子. 大家剛剛吃完頭盤, 來到這裡, 就是吃英式主菜的時間. 海鮮批剛剛焗好, 自然是熱辣辣的, 批皮夠香脆, 入面的餡料相當豐富, 當中的帶子煙燻過之後, 味道特別, 而帶子跟龍蝦就帶有香檳醬汁的味道, 也是很動人的. 另外, 旁邊還跟上鮮嫩菜葉沙律及鮮露筍, 也讓大家吃得健康一點.

大家不妨在下班後前來Alfie's喝一杯, 再吃這客海鮮批, 賣相精緻之餘, 味道亦是相當教人滿意. 能夠把傳統的英式批演化成這客The LANDMARK luxurious seafood pie, 怪不得能成為置地廣場藝術盛宴的一分子.
