兩間餐廳menu大同小異,反而BàrBar嘅水準比較平均,每道都有驚喜,美味!

charred deboned beef ribs 200g with roasted pumpkin purée, mojo rojo, mojo verda ($288)the ribs were so tender like they were just melting in your mouth. the charred surface gave extra flavour to the ribs. you could also pair the ribs with 3 different sauces served on plate.padron peppers and squid with brioche it’s a good and easy appetiser to kick start the meal. i liked the squid with brioche, as the squid was not too chewy and the brioche was not too soggy too!

padron peppers and squid with brioche
it’s a good and easy appetiser to kick start the meal. i liked the squid with brioche, as the squid was not too chewy and the brioche was not too soggy too!

I had a terrible experience at Barbar's and would not recommend it to anyone. I booked a table one week in advance and called on the day to reschedule. They told me they had no record of my original booking, which was frustrating. I made a new booking for 9 pm at 8 pm, and when I arrived an hour later, the restaurant had no record of my booking again. To make matters worse, the lady who came out to speak to us was incredibly rude and unhelpful. She claimed that because we were ten minutes late,

我們還特別試了 Pigeon rice with foie gras ($273),份量十分足夠,很大方。飯裏沾上了鴿子的油脂味,個人覺得有點羶,不太懂得欣賞。而鵝肝亦略嫌油膩。不過,我覺得這是一道可以一大班人一起點的菜式,每人吃一口,也是有趣的嘗試。




Lobster Fideua ($295) 是一種麵條版的paella,這個麵條頗有趣。龍蝦味道濃郁,但龍蝦肉略嫌欠奉;麵條短小,有一種濕炒麵的感覺,同時部份麵條面也煎得脆脆的。

最後,我們享用了餐廳的芝士蛋糕Our cheesecake ($78),質感較鬆軟,頗特別,而味道也不錯。


另外,我喜歡餐廳的小心思,包括用上特的生日蠟燭,是吹完又會重燃的蠟燭,可以用來許幾個生日願望,真好!另外,餐廳也為我們拍下即影即有,留下美好回憶,謝謝!


整體來說,這是一個適合慶祝生日的餐廳,也值得一試!

The periphery almost has an egg tart texture…not my thing
But towards the centre it becomes a good chesecake with that melt-in-your-mouth texture and cheese aroma😋

@barbar.hk in Wan Chai is a hidden gem for those on a budget🤑 Ordered 7 tapas for under $200 were all delicious, but the Ibérico Ham Croquettes and sangria stood out👌🏼.西環嘅Pica Pica都算係西班牙餐廳界名店,最近佢哋開咗間姊妹店係灣仔,晏晝嚟食就算叫7樣tapas都係二百蚊有找性價比超高!其中最鐘意rusa salad, ham croquettes同cheesecake,有機會一定夜晚嚟試吓氣氛應該唔錯😛

Went here with so-so expectations since a friend has already dined here before and told me the food was so so. Surprisingly, the food we ordered were all good. The servings of the tapas are as they are… tapas, so it really just gives you some taste of the food. Went here with so-so expectations since a friend has already dined here before and told me the food was so so. Surprisingly, the food we ordered were all good. The servings of the tapas are as they are… tapas, so it really just gives you some taste of the food. The burrata with tomato was good. Easy to finish.
Padron peppers were good but i wish most of them had a crunch. The ones at the bottom got a bit soggy.
Squid with brioche was weird but good. Literally eating calamari with tartar sauce and sweet brioche bread.
Ajillo prawns was good. Prawns were not super fresh cause i can taste it in the oil but people who aren’t particular with seafood won’t even notice it. Too little garlic for my taste (i love garlic).
Iberico pork with cuttlefish was surprisingly really good. We ordered the small size and it was just right for 2 people. The taste of the dish is just right and doesn’t make you feel sick right away. Hope they’d put more cuttlefish in there though.
Spanish torija was okay and a bit heavy. Can get dry if you don’t eat it with the tiny ice cream served with it.
Cheesecake was weird but good. It had a salty bitter taste which came from the cheese they used for the cheesecake (not sure what cheese though).

I’d definitely come back.

This is a totally unacceptable experience by this restaurant. I called, made a reservation for a table for 3 at 8pm, leave my name and phone no, everything seems fine.Then on the day of the reservation, another lady called to confirm the booking, but saying that all tables are reserved and I can only sit in the bar table. I told her this is not what I was told but then the lady insisted there is no table for me. Extremely bad experience and won't go again.

Interested to try, given previous good experience at sister restaurant pica pica. Booking system only permitted either 6:15 or 8:15 dinner slots. 6:15 probably too ambitious for Lawyer, so went for 8:15. Arrived at 8pm and the staff led us to our table in the middle section. Super bustling for a weekday. My bad for not requesting to sit at the bar counter- at least we wouldn’t get bumped into every time a server marched past with the food. Or maybe not as much. Plenty of alcohols to choose from.

Plenty of alcohols to choose from. Wine list- soso, at least the wines by the glass anyway. The Rioja red I eventually decided on was not available.
Here’s what we had.
Tomato with burrata- certainly looked nothing like the one displayed on the website, could hardly see the burrata. Tomatoes were anything but sweet and juicy. Couldn’t finish.
Ajillo prawns- came with 4 pieces of bread. Garlic was a bit burnt.

Suckling pig with red wine sauce. Good. Redeeming feature of our meal. Skin was crispy, fat level was perfect, tender meat.

3 choices of dessert. Decided to go for the cheesecake, since we loved the one at pica pica. Again, disappointed. Wish we had gone for the Torrija (ie Spanish style french toast).

In summary: def not a place for deep meaningful conversations. A bit short staffed. Our meal was punctuated throughout by loud screams and squeals of some very excited ladies. Maybe good for groups. Or, maybe should just stick with pica pica.
