一行7人來到為我和另一位朋友慶生~ 點了2款前菜(每樣2份) 和每人一個main dish~白酒煮梨+ Parma ham & melon- 不錯,伴碟的啫喱粒粒不知用什麼做?有肉桂味帶子他他-是生的帶子混了點蒜和另外一些東西,很難形容,面上的脆脆增加了口感。我的主菜是有雞肉的risotto~ 吃到尾有點漏,吃不完。朋友還叫餐廳預備了甜品,好漂亮喔!拿破崙很脆!另一份是梨pie我沒有吃很多,不能judge~餐廳送上了一小盒5粒的朱古力給生日的我們!真貼心!最後想講就是真的好多人在這裡慶生,見到甜品一直出來,尤其是拿破崙😜

我的主菜是有雞肉的risotto~ 吃到尾有點漏,吃不完。

朋友還叫餐廳預備了甜品,好漂亮喔!拿破崙很脆!另一份是梨pie我沒有吃很多,不能judge~

餐廳送上了一小盒5粒的朱古力給生日的我們!真貼心!

最後想講就是真的好多人在這裡慶生,見到甜品一直出來,尤其是拿破崙😜

睇食評見到這裏好多人食,仲要好多人係慶祝生日的,今次生日飯我地都揀左呢度試下呀. 餐廳環境都算特別,好昏暗,我們坐係入面位置,7點半未算多人,點左兩個套餐及散叫一些一齊SHARE.先送上一籃麵包,係迷你法包,都暖身的,不過我覺得好硬餐湯係蟹肉露笋湯,都啖啖蟹肉的,味道都幾好,露笋味道都好清,好味. 朋友叫左一個蠔湯跟一條TOAST,試左一啖好重的蠔,都好味的,似獻汁多過湯.散叫左蟹餅,因好多人話好正,必食,蟹餅都係啖啖蟹肉的呀,上面有些沙律,下面係千島醬汁,好味呀!羊扒,係切開左冇骨的,好酥的啊,朋友個個食羊都話好正因夠酥,加埋介辣及薄菏啫喱GOOD,下面有一些椰菜容,都好香好味吉列豬扒都好好味,好香口好鬆脆,唔會覺得好油,下面係薯蓉嚟架,都好好味,又香又滑,好味道.這個係意大利飯,唔記得咩魚,都OK,好多魚肉,唔會腥的.不過漏左少少.甜品叫左一個什莓拿破倫配雪糕,拿破倫非常鬆化,好好味,唔會好漏,啱啱好,有些莓酸酸甜甜咁好正.我們自己買左一個蛋糕嚟食,餐廳收100元一個蛋糕切餅費,切好蛋糕後會砌番個蛋糕出嚟,好有心思呀.

有個朋友一直都話同男朋友慶祝生日,原本無諗住咁早慶祝嫁,但突然慶起,就上open rice睇下啦,好似唔錯,大約5點幾打去book位,但最早只有9:30,都無問題,照book,去到7:00左右餐廳職員打黎話可以提早,但因為舖頭仲有客,遲左出門口,都係打番餐廳話要9:30先到準時到左餐廳,入到去有職員見到我地但無人理會,要等幾分鐘先有另一個職員同我講叫我等一陣先,點知個一陣已經係半個鐘,勁無奈,我都唔知book位黎做咩入到去即刻睇下有咩食,因為真係好肚餓啦,我地三個人每人叫左個set dinner ,另外男朋友同個朋友各叫多一個頭盤首先黎左沙律同蟹肉露筍湯,個湯好正,份量亦唔會太膩黎頭盤,叫左鵝肝同蟹餅,兩個不論食材同味道都好好,由於男朋友曾經開過西餐廳,對西餐要求都有番咁上下主菜啦,佢地兩個都叫左羊架7成熟,而我就試左個帶子意大利飯男朋友對依個羊架讚不絕口,但我個意大利飯就一般啦,個汁太膩啦見食晒主菜,就叫起甜品,由於我book位個陣已經留左三個甜品原本對於等左半左鐘既不滿因為餐廳既食物很好而掩蓋,但我地主菜都食晒好耐啦,叫起甜品都叫左三,四個字,可惜一直未有侍應幫我地收拾枱面上既野,

主菜啦,佢地兩個都叫左羊架7成熟,而我就試左個帶子意大利飯
男朋友對依個羊架讚不絕口,但我個意大利飯就一般啦,個汁太膩啦
見食晒主菜,就叫起甜品,由於我book位個陣已經留左三個甜品
原本對於等左半左鐘既不滿因為餐廳既食物很好而掩蓋,但我地主菜都食晒好耐啦,叫起甜品都叫左三,四個字,可惜一直未有侍應幫我地收拾枱面上既野,阻礙到我地飲餐飲,所以我就叫人幫我收野先有人唔情願咁幫我收,真係……我只好問另一個侍應有無manager,咁佢就問我有咩事,老實講,餐廳話最早既booking係9:30,再打黎話可以早d,但結果我要番原本book好既時間都要等多半個鐘,如果我接受佢可以提早既時間未等仲耐,我真係未試過食西餐無人收野,係要人叫先去收,仲要係d侍應行過見到都當無事!
三個甜品終於到啦,一個係蕉糖燉蛋,一個係拿破崙,一個係唔知咩局梨,前者兩個都好好味吖,但焗梨果個就麻麻
依到既食物真係唔錯,但服務如此的時候,真係令人有點卻步,我選擇食西餐都係希望可以有好既服務姐,當我地甜品都未食晒,只係食左頭幾啖,已經有個侍應叫我地先埋單,都無關係啦,埋完單即刻關冷氣,在場仲有其他客人係到,而我地仲要係未食完野,勁無奈
题外话/补充资料: 奉勸依間餐廳既老闆勿再用庸才,因為食物質素真的好好既時候都希望有好的服務

一向有睇開OPENRICE就睇下生日去邊到慶祝好,發現左呢間係生日慶祝聖地。一去到覺得門口已經好特別,好多張相,好藝術。入到去個環境都幾舒服,我地咁岩可以坐係角位,可以有多D私人空間唔洗好似成日食野都俾人望住咁。之後我同男朋友就叫左幾個菜式。呢個前菜蟹餅真係啖啖肉,但其實聞唔到蟹香既,不過配埋佢既類似千島醬既汁都幾Match望落去好似唔係好多咁,但其實都幾夠食嫁!份量唔少。呢個下次去都可以再食!呢個係蟹肉意大利飯,要熱食先好味,都好creamy,好多蟹肉,飯軟硬度適中啦如果凍左食就會再硬D,所以要熱食先好。西冷扒好好味!!!! 叫左7成熟,岩岩好再配合個磨菇汁,唔會太咸,味道好夾。牛扒又好大塊,一路食呢個再食個蟹肉飯,好正!另外個著茸要講下,我本身鐘意食薯仔,覺得呢個好滑好soft,入面有D脆脆係到,好有口感!到最後,俾big surprise男朋友,我一早訂位果時訂埋個生日甜品,可以寫埋字俾佢。甜品好食,又其是拿破倫入面既吉士餡。唯一美中不足既係佢遲左上個甜品,搞到男朋友話要走我又要扮肚仔唔舒服先坐多陣。整體黎講係唔錯既晚餐~

西冷扒好好味!!!! 叫左7成熟,岩岩好再配合個磨菇汁,唔會太咸,味道好夾。
牛扒又好大塊,一路食呢個再食個蟹肉飯,好正!
另外個著茸要講下,我本身鐘意食薯仔,覺得呢個好滑好soft,入面有D脆脆係到,好有口感!

到最後,俾big surprise男朋友,我一早訂位果時訂埋個生日甜品,可以寫埋字俾佢。
甜品好食,又其是拿破倫入面既吉士餡。
唯一美中不足既係佢遲左上個甜品,搞到男朋友話要走我又要扮肚仔唔舒服先坐多陣。
整體黎講係唔錯既晚餐~

MUNCH has been on my list of must-try restos since...2010(?) but I never got around to trying it becuase...TST is too far away . However, since it's summer and I have time to spare, a trip to TST was alright. Emm. Actually - the delay is caused not by sloth but by the rapidly changing food scene in Hong Kong. I also have myself to blame for not being very focused and intentional when it comes to checking restaurants off my eatlist. Thankfully, I have a friend who knows my palate very well and s

. However, since it's summer and I have time to spare, a trip to TST was alright. Emm. Actually - the delay is caused not by sloth but by the rapidly changing food scene in Hong Kong. I also have myself to blame for not being very focused and intentional when it comes to checking restaurants off my eatlist. Thankfully, I have a friend who knows my palate very well and specifically picked out MUNCH for our saturday lunchdate. I am thankful to E for introducing MUNCH into my food journeys this week. 

Environment:
Quite spacious. There are huge glass windows on one side overlooking Knutsford Terrace. A party of 2-4 would enjoy the unobstructed view (despite the limited scope). Ventilation is quite good. 

Service:
Average - no complaints. They did their job, and food was brought to the table pretty promptly. 

Food
Set lunches are available but in terms of price they are not much different from the Set Meals in the a la carte menu. Check both out. You need to +$20 for a soup or salad upgrade.

Did not plan to have this initially but E suddenly wanted to have something liquid and hot before the meal. I had the green salad (interesting citrusy dressing, not the standard balsamic + EVOO). The soup was hot, only slightly grainy, well-seasoned and flavoursome. It was quite delightful - the good thing being it wasn't too creamy, or else finishing the entrees would become a problem.

I had been swearing on the mushroom risotto at *OL10* for some time but I might've found a keen competitor. Maybe it's the intense garlic oil which, for me, does wonders. Everyone likes a bit of garlic and mushrooms. The risotto was well-cooked - al dente, with a slightly undercooked center which I have come to appreciate. I used to prefer a fully-cooked risotto which I could mush between my tongue and palate. This one requires a bit of chewing. Anyhow - I loved the strands of spinach ribboned between the rice and of course the juicy, fragrant and well-seasoned mushrooms (brown, crimini?). Didn't try the shrimp. I would come back for this dish anytime. The only complaint being the huge portion size. Good to share between two ladies. Great execution.

I had this. The chops were quite tender and non-fatty. Perhaps they trimmed away some of the fat? Anyway, the sauce was delightful. It's a tomato-based sauce cooked with the basic aromatic vegetables for an oxtail stew - carrot, celery, onion. It was really good. Not sour, slightly sweet, and quite thick (which I much prefer over runny sauces). The veal itself was sufficiently marinated and had itself a nice flavour which was further enhanced by the sauce. The rice was fluffly, long grain. Slightly disappointed by the boiled broccoli and cauliflower, which were undercooked. The skill required here isn't as high as that required for the risotto, but still, this is a very decent dish and I would love to be able to replicate this someday.

The chicken breast fillet was quite tender, moist and well-seasoned. The crust was thin and crisp - not a chicken schnitzel. I think a bit of cheese and bread crumbs went into the batter. The fillet was huge. The creamy mushroom sauce was an appropriate choice for the fillet. Again, the sauce was very yummy. The mashed potato quenelle sat stiffly on the plate - slightly too dry, not enough butter
. But I really appreciate how MUNCH tries to keep its dishes healthy. The side veg is boiled - avoid oil when you can; then you can spend your calories and fat intake on other treats. 

Conclusion
So glad we came here. I will definitely be back, perhaps for dinner. I would try their sandwiches sometime to see how they distinguish themselves. There's also a bunch of other interesting looking restos along Knutsford Terrace, certainly something to look into during summer hols.

當日都有好幾個人生日, 咁岩隔離果度都訂左呢個甜品, 所以男朋友一早就見到了.. surprise就咁無左了.. 問題係如果兩台生日既人都訂左的話, 可唔可以盡量將大家既位分開d, 如果唔係就大快破梗好尷尬~ 而且我地明明訂左位, 但係一去到佢先分開張4人台變2張2人台, 其實距離好接近~

我記得上次黎既時候燈光比較昏暗和浪漫而且無咁嘈, 今次黎反而無左果種感覺, 不過總的來說, 食物和服務雖然有值得改進的地方但還是不錯的!

Had heard mixed reviews about Munch and most of the PR stuff that they put out made it seem like a tourist trap.Anyways, walked in at about 1230, restaurant was at filled at about 50% capacity, while the rest of the restaurants in the area were completely empty (Always a good sign). Looked at the set lunch options for the day, while the server got us some iced water (there was no sign of trying to push the drinks or overpriced bottled water). Ordered 2 sets: the Chicken breast with a cheese sauc

Anyways, walked in at about 1230, restaurant was at filled at about 50% capacity, while the rest of the restaurants in the area were completely empty (Always a good sign). 

Looked at the set lunch options for the day, while the server got us some iced water (there was no sign of trying to push the drinks or overpriced bottled water). 

Ordered 2 sets: the Chicken breast with a cheese sauce + Ceaser Salad and the Meatballs + Cauliflower Soup. While we waited, we were served the bread with some salted butter. Bread was warm, but i suspect that's becuase it was thrown into the microwave before serving. 

The first course: the Soup was well done, though a bit underseasoned, but none the less, a very good start to the meal. The wife really enjoyed the ceaser salad and it seemed like some work had gone into making the salad with evenly distributed dressing and good choice of the lettuce. 

The Mains: The meatballs were the winner handsdown. The meatballs themselves were made from scratch and were perfectly executed, with the sauce being a perfect foil for the meat. Served over a thin bed of rice and mashed potatoes. The chicken was also just right, though a bit on the cheesy side and a little heavy.

Followed up with a cup each of earl grey and peppermint tea. 

Extremely good value for money with a little over 100HKD a head. IMHO it would be difficult to find this quality of food for this sort of money. Would definitely go back for this lunch. Infact as per the wife this is the new favorite lunch place deposing Din Tai Fung. 
题外话/补充资料: Service is a little on the slow side, so order everything in one go. Otherwise it is one of those places for a leisurely lunch.

姊妹淘難得來香港,數數手指,我們也闊別一年多了吧,所對於她的到訪我是十分期待的,對於這次的晚餐,我是想要好好安排的,但奈何因有好幾間餐廳訂不到位置的關係,最後便臨時決定到訪位於諾士佛臺的Munch吃晚餐了。地方是舒適寬敞,環境也有情調,但奈何食物的質素是令人稍有失望之感。點的前菜蟹餅水準也算是可以,但就是吃不出蟹肉的鮮香;鵝肝也是不錯,也算是甘香,但對比La Porale的出品還是猶有不及。主菜不知道是不是帶了很大希望來的關係,以致於是有點失望的,意粉和米飯類也不怎麼特別,只屬不過不失之作。但跟姊妹淘相聚的時間也是美好的,也能認識到她兩位友善健談的友人,實在是件樂事。在此感覺姊妹淘的請客!消費:$220

We decided to dine at Munch after reading some reviews from Openrice, on our recent trip to Hong Kong. Although it was for my Birthday, we didn't want something too expensive... but taste was definitely a consideration. We decided to dine at Munch after reading some reviews from Openrice, on our recent trip to Hong Kong. Although it was for my Birthday, we didn't want something too expensive... but taste was definitely a consideration. The place was not very busy on a Sunday night and we got a table immediately.

Service was prompt, polite and thoughtful! They started us with a basket of warm bread and butter. Following that, all of the items tasted wonderful; this includes the caesar salad and my hubby, who is not a veg lover, commented on how the caesar dressing was perfect in taste without being too bland or heavy. The crab cake was as good as what other reviewers wrote, warm and delicious and we woofed it down in minutes. The truffle carbonara pasta was so good - sauce was perfect just like the salad and the portion was huge.

We were very full from the three dishes and managed to have dessert. The staff presented it with the Birthday art which delighted me very much. They also gave me a box of Munch chocolates as a gift for my birthday. The overall experience was excellent and I would highly recommend anyone to dine there, not just for a special ocassion =)

待店員以電動磨研器將黑胡椒粒磨碎並經發熱增強其香氣後,湯味就是更加精彩。清甜南瓜味道出奇濃郁讓人喜出望外,拌入了忌廉,口感滑溜、質地濃稠,最後滴上少許龍蝦油與黑胡椒提味,湯款雖平凡,但本身卻喜愛。

份量又是意料之外的巨大,整碟滿滿的包括了鮮甜爽口的羅馬生菜、咸香惹味的煙肉脆粒、巴馬臣芝士片、香脆黃金麵包粒,最欣賞還是這個掛汁的凱撒沙律醬汁,質地濃淡適中,讓每口食材均沾滿了奶滑與酸香。

只吃一口燙咀的意大利飯,口感是既有的煙韌與嚼勁,充滿著蕃茄、海鮮、香草、忌廉和牛油的精華,下了多汁菇菌和脆嫰意大利青瓜更令意大利飯多了份豐富口感和清甜。反觀帶子爽彈但煎得過熟,鮮甜味一般,魚子醬的鮮咸度彌補不足,一矢中的,是意大利飯比帶子做得更為出色。

要求七成熟的羊架同是以加熱碟子奉上,兩大件實在令人興奮不已。面層脆皮由麵包糠、蒜茸、牛油、芫茜和迷迭香等混合組成,目的除了是增加香脆口感和羊肉風味、也好讓肉汁得以被鎖住,肉心部份色澤嫰紅,對肉食愛好者而言絕對吸引!

羊架肉汁豐盈、肉味不羶,加上肉質紋理細嫰鬆軟當中夾著一層軟潤油脂,點些少伴碟以肉類熬成的濃濃汁醬同吃,或是加入羊油、雞蛋和煙肉粒略煎的法式椰菜花批,是集甘香與脂香的滿足滋味。

甜品是從來都令人笑逐顏開的食物,這個面層鋪滿了紅桑子脆乾、糖漿士多啤梨與呈半透明的脆薄片形成了一份微微酸甜的醒胃美味。

三層厚厚的酥皮與三層吉士交替,拿破崙層次分明、酥脆度驚人,配上以大量雲呢拿籽入饌的吉士,質感軟幼滑,甜度輕怡兼包含濃郁甜美的雲呢拿香氣,伴著Movenpick的朱古力雪糕,充滿了大量朱古力碎,是筆者希望能再來多客的幸福美味啊。

額外付10元換來的餐飲,品質不錯,氣味甘香順喉如絲般奶滑,味道溫和馥郁,不偏酸也不苦澀,配會面頭厚厚而綿密的奶泡,喝罷令整頓晚飯變得更完美。


在三個半小時的晚飯時間似乎也不足夠讓筆者與朋友傾盡心事與道盡生活小趣事,喜歡Munch的氣氛輕鬆和環境舒適,沒有太拘謹之感,至少我們可開懷大笑,店員工作態度表現得認真勤快,不時留意各枱客人需要,加上定價相宜便獲得優質美味而份量充足的食物,無論是家人朋友們的歡聚時光,抑或兩口子的甜蜜二人世界,都應該感到稱心滿意。

凱撒沙律這次是分開點的,份量固然比隨餐加HKD20的大一點,味道則當然是...相同的。
一向欣賞這裡凱撒沙律的芝士派送慷慨,在下亦樂意大手掃貨。
有點驚喜的是麵包。
我們有時說的「頗堪嘴嚼」原來真的可以literally用在食物方面。
無須塗牛油,一小塊一小塊放入口裏,細細嘴嚼,自有一種獨特香甜味。
吃得欲罷不能,只需臉皮再厚一點,就一定禁不住跟夥計再多要一兩個。

It was late when we went so we didn't need a reservation to get a table at Munch. Although they have set dinners (appetizer + main + dessert + coffee/tea), we opted to order a la carte.First we had the scallop salad:This was so delicious. This was so delicious. The scallops were fresh and there's a burst of contrasting texture from the scallops, water chestnut, jelly and avocados.

We also ordered the crab cake, which was also pretty good; unlike the experience of some of the other reviewers, our crab cake didn't have chunks of crab shells mixed in.

Although the steak was very tender, it wasn't exceptionally tasty. The lobster was a little too well done making the meat chewier than it should be.

And for dessert, we had the chocolate lava cake (with vanilla ice cream):

It was delicious! The chocolate was very thick but not overly sweet so even if you eat a lot, it doesn't make you queasy.

The service was okay - not overly great or memorable, but it wasn't bad at all either. The ambiance was good; there's not much of a view but the interior was designed to be conducive to slow, enjoyable dining.
