This shop is pretty well known and popular around the Braemar Hill residential area, but its clientele comprises mostly of only local students and residents due to the inaccessible location by the general public. The shop cooks their own Roast Meats and they are famous for their Char Siu Pork as well as Roast Ducks, but it is their Char Siu Sandwich which draws in the crowd !.Char Siu Sandwich (Toasted) - $25 with DrinkThe char siu here is generally on the leaner side, so it is important
. Char Siu Sandwich (Toasted) - $25 with Drink
The char siu here is generally on the leaner side, so it is important to order half-fatty strips. The pork is sliced thinly and the sauce is more on the savoury and meaty side, retaining a natural pork taste. The outside is sometimes more charred than other days. The spread of margarine inside the evenly toasted bread works well with this char siu ! 4/5
. Hot Lemon Tea -
This is decent enough, with a mellow tea flavour.
. Char Siu and Roast Duck Rice, with Salted Duck Egg - $30 + $7 The prices here aren't expensive and hence it attracts their usual crowd of student customers, but in return the amount of meat you receive is on the small side. The Char Siu on the rice works less successfully as it is not very tender like other shops. The Roast Duck however is better as it has a crispy skin and moist meat, and the rice is cooked surprisingly well.
The Salted Duck Eggs are also decent with a beautiful looking yolk and not too salty egg whites. Overall this was ok for a quick meal, I think I'll stick to the Char Siu Toasted Sandwich! 3/5
