I had been eating lunch around TST 厚福街 recently. This time I had no time to eat out so decided to get takeaways. It was so hot that I craved something cold like sushi. I came to this quite popular sushi restaurant to give it a try. 寿司定食配牛肉乌冬 at $99
The set included 6 pieces of sushi, 厚烧玉子, beef udon, salad and steamed egg. There was no service charge for lunch sets. For self takeaways, you could get a 10% discount. There was a $5 surcharge for takeaway box for each lunch set.
To my surprise, the quality of the sushi was outstanding. I think there was essentially no difference compared with eating in. The sashimi were very thick cut and fresh e.g. the scallop, salmon and 油甘鱼. Look at the salmon which was sliced very nicely. The minced toro with spring onion was big and fresh. The salmon roes were very fresh too. The cooked shrimp was very big. All the rice was prepared in a nice pyramid under the sashimi and was very fresh. The two 厚烧玉子 were professionally marked by the name of the restaurant and tasted refreshing because they were cold. They were really made of many layers of eggs. Even the sliced pickled ginger were so appetising because they were more sweet rather than spicy!

The salad gave me a big surprise too as it was not the usual Japanese style salad but western style Caesar salad with a fresh scallop. It was well dressed. The steamed egg didn't look very nice because it had been transferred into this disposable container for take away. But it was very smooth with a slice of mushroom, some shrimps and crab stick.

The beef udon had a lot of udon which were of the thick type and smooth enough. There were quite a lot of sliced beef which were rich in beef flavour and not too rough. There were also a slice of elastic fish ball, some crispy sweet corns and seaweed. The soup was not too oily at all. A good udon to fill your stomach.
Although they were quite busy with their dining in guests during the busy lunch hours, I only had to wait for less than 15 min to get my food.
In short, it was quite a good place for sushi indeed and quality was good even for takeaways. I was impressed.
