Long awaited dinner with Lawyer. Not a big restaurant, around 4-5 tables.Server let us pick our table, gave an overview of the menu. Wine list was reasonable- ordered a bottle of Chianti Classico.Decided on 3 mains to share. Here’s what we had.Yellow Croaker Fillet- deep fried and grilled with its scales on; with delightfully crunchy skin. On the side, long thin strands of the capellini pasta, topped with smoked Pike Roe. Served with butter sauce balanced with tangy Indian green mango powder.Chi

Chicken from Zhanjiāng Guangzhou (which server noted was more expensive than three yellow chicken). Breast was pan fried; whilst the thigh was in a roll, went well with the aromatic flavors of the Pink and Golden Oyster Mushrooms, and the slightly earthy taste of the pencil mushrooms. This combination was given a unique twist with the surprising flavour pairing of Sauce made with Dried Oysters.

Goose Breast Smoked with Orange Wood, Leg Confit Croquette (ie ball fried in breadcrumbs); sauce made with goose bones and Clementines. Garnished with Waterlemon radish, which tasted very fresh. Loved the Croquette- very light and crunchy; breast was quite chewy tho.

Pu'er Basque Cheesecake with Chrysanthemum Ice Cream, Crumble of Cardamom (小豆蔻, tasting similar to Cinnamon) with Raspberries.

Tofu Skin Mille-Feuille sandwiched with
Pecan, Coffee and Soy Milk Crème, and Figs. Server did warn us that the tofu skin might turn hard and chewy if not consumed immediately, but we were too busy chatting.

In summary: loved it. Excellent service- only one server but she ferried out dishes professionally and managed polite conversation with no effort at all.
