These beef rice don places are popping up a lot in HK, and surprisingly I have not tried any one of them except for Yoshinoya (from a looong time ago). So I had to give this relatively new place a try. We got two don sets where depending on your choice of snack, it would be either +$10 or +$20. To balance out the nutrients in the meal, we opted for one fried chicken and one veggie. The portions were surely quite generous, which made me feel less guilty as I was devouring all the meats from this

I actually quite enjoyed their signature 牛魔王, which was basically like a smashed beef patty! Little did I know, you weren’t supposed to drench the sauce over the beef patty, but you were supposed to only pour the sauce over the rice, have a bite of the beef patty, then a bite of the rice. Regardless, I don’t actually think it “ruined” the taste of the patty at all!
Their curry chicken was like a typical curry you’d get from a Japanese restaurant. The curry is sweet and flavourful, yet even kids can eat it since it is not spicy at all! Speaking of kids, I wish I was still one - as students get a -$5 discount for purchasing their sets!
My favourite part of the meal was the Japanese rice that they use. The shape adds on to the texture, making each bite more fulfilling as it should be.
Overall, it’s nice to have all these new beef don places in HK. Competition can definitely help improve the quality that these restaurants deliver!
