Spaghetti House is just everywhere over Hong Kong. Anything particular great about it? To me, frankly no, but just a place nice and convenient enough to have a meal with family or friends. However, I've decided to write a review on this dining experience at the Spaghetti House at W Square, Wan Chai because it had given me a totally surprising dining experience at the restaurant. However, I've decided to write a review on this dining experience at the Spaghetti House at W Square, Wan Chai because it had given me a totally surprising dining experience at the restaurant. I am actually not talking about the food quality, but its service and impression on the night. I'm pretty sure that we won't encounter such experience oftenly in Hong Kong.
The day was actually my sister's birthday, but since it was on a weekday and that she was having exams on the next day, we decided to just have a simple dinner first and later have a more decent meal afterwards.
It was about 6 something when we arrive the restaurant. Only few tables were occupied, and as it was actually a pretty big and spacious restaurant, the restaurant seemed to be especially quiet. Actually we have been to this Spaghetti House twice before, but it still kind of surprised me that the waiters can already remember our family. They gave us a warm welcome, and you can feel their sincerity in serving you.
One of the waiters, whom I believe is actually the manager, chatted with my dad. It was a really friendly chat and very soon they were chatting as if they were old friends. He then generously offered us a plate of Chicken Wings in Black Pepper & Honey Sauce
Then there were soups from the dinner sets we ordered. We chose the lobster bisque, clam chowder and minestrone. The lobster bisque has probably been the favorite soup to us. We have always loved the rich texture of it. There were some lobster meat and mushroom in it, and probably one of the best parts of the bisque is that it wasn't bitter. The clam chowder was fabulous too. It's pretty rich in texture as well, and flavorful of course, and there really were whole clams inside. For whole clams I mean along with the shells. The minestrone wasn't bad either, nice texture and not watery. A variety of vegetables were included in the soup, with kidney beans and farfelle pasta, which the kids find it a delight.
Let's start with the dishes we ordered. Firstly, there's a new promotion on the Boston Lobster with Duo Tomato Au Gratin ‧ Penne Rigate in Lobster Sauce , and it's the first thing I pointed onto the menu, saying that I want to try it.
Triple Cheese & Seafood Pizza
Tripoline with Parma Ham & Grilled Chicken in Cream Sauce
Squid Ink Risotto with Seafood in Lobster Sauce Au Gratin
Pipe Rigate with Ham Au Gratin
Spaghetti with Italian Meat Sauce
Risotto of the House
Linguine with Mushroom and Pesto Sauce
Throughout the whole time, the waiters had been really friendly to us, especially the manager, who had been keen on chatting with my dad and had been cracking some jokes that fill our table full of laughter. Last but not least we wrapped up our dinner with desserts, and here's a surprise.
I really appreciated that the manager remembered that it's my sister's birthday and he lighted up a candle onto one of the desserts we ordered, which was the Banana Split
Homemade Cheese Cake
Baked Banana & Chocolate Crumble with Ice Cream
In overall, I was very satisfied with the dinner even when I actually have a really picky tongue. The food, to be frank, wasn't of a really high quality, fair and so so I'll say. The satisfaction came from the heartwarming service and the sincerity of waiters. Seriously how often would you encounter such dining experience in Hong Kong? or I should say, have you ever had such experience? I feel that this was probably one of the best dinners have ever had. What matters the most is that we really had a delightful and enjoyable dinner.
