This week my friend KiKi came back from Vancouver. Since I have not met her for three years, I would like to take her to a quiet place for dinner catch up. As recommended by some friends who work in WanChai, EL dining has a nice view, and it could be very quiet in the restaurant.Once we arrived the restaurant, we were seated by the window. EL Dining has some very nice wide comfortable couch. Most of the seats were couch style so it was very relaxing. There was a very good view facing the harbor.

Once we arrived the restaurant, we were seated by the window. EL Dining has some very nice wide comfortable couch. Most of the seats were couch style so it was very relaxing. There was a very good view facing the harbor. Even though the restaurant is very small, it was not noisy at all. We enjoyed the whole evening without the need to talk louder and louder.

The restaurant manager told us that the menu is changing every twice a month. For this evening, we had some Oyster Bisque and Chicken Ceasar salad as starters. The oyster bisque was not very creamy, so it would not fill up our stomach immediately. The chicken pieces from the salad were shredded into small pieces, and it was very soft. The lettuce was very fresh.

Afterthat, we were also served with some portebello mushrooms with some fresh tomato sauce and rocket salad on the salad. The mushroom was very juicy even after baking. It just wasn’t big enough, as a big mushroom fan, I wish I could have some more of that.

For entrée, I had the Slow Cooked Iberico Pork Chop. It was a generous big portion with a very nice clove of garlic and some fries on the side. They also served us some fresh made mustard with a good kick of spice that matched perfect with the pork chop. The pork chop was so tender that it did not take much effort to cut them into pieces. KiKi ordered lamb chop and she said it was just as good as something she could have in North America. We had the entrée to go with the paired wine, and it was so enjoyable.

After the entrée, we were almost full, but that was not the end of dinner yet. The surprise dessert was a carmelized crème brulee. It was very crispy on the top with a piece of raspberry and blueberry. It was made just sweet enough but not too sweet; I wish I could have some more of that.

The service and pace was very good at the restaurant that unlike many restaurants in Soho or Central, we didn’t feel any rush in returning the table. We were able to spend a good three hour to catch up and to enjoy the glasses of wine. If I am looking for a quiet gathering place with no rush, it is definitely one of my top choices to come back for.
