This is a restaurant we often forget about as it is not in a traditional restaurant or shopping area. However one day, my sister in law suggested we came here to try their Typhoon Shelter fried crab as it is much better than all of those under the bridge variety. As we are crab lovers, we never let good crab advise go to waste, so we booked a table and also booked 2 portions of crab in advance.Other than the crab, the usual lunch time items are dim sum and Cantonese dishes which were mostly a go
Other than the crab, the usual lunch time items are dim sum and Cantonese dishes which were mostly a good standard or above average. Fried turnip cake Slightly too burnt Um, I just can't remember what this dish is, even after looking at the photo The star, Typhoon shelter crab. The crabs were not whole crabs cut up. We ordered 2 crabs but there were less than 4 claws. The dish is made very differently from the traditional typhoon shelter crab. The pieces were first coated in a light batter and deep fried in seasoned salt. It was a nice way to cook crab but I cannot really compare it to the typhoon shelter dish as it is not similar at all. Finally, we had a chicken smoked in tea leaves. This is one of my favourite dishes of late. This one is dry but sometimes they come with some sauce The restaurant has since been renovated, I will return some day to see how it has improved.
