The prawn ravioli  that costs $158 turned out to be Chinese-style wonton in cream sauce -- an odd combination. Not only was the name of the dish misleading: The prawns on top of the wonton were tasteless. We wouldn't have ordered the dish had we known that it's wonton rather than ravioli.

The herring we ordered as a starter was a bit too salty. It wasn't a good match with the potatoes served with it -- I left most of the potatoes untouched.

Overall, the quality of the food was below average for the prices. Maybe the prices were for the ambience.

The service was bad:
1) Some of us waited for 10 minutes after were seated to have our glasses filled with water, but the restaurant wasn't that busy when we arrived.
2) The guy who served us was grumpy and carried out his duties reluctantly.
3) We asked for our bills to be split. Then we had to wait for 15 minutes just for our bills to be ready. This same guy who served us was apparently unhappy with our request. We had been waiting for so long we had to ask for our bills for a second time, and he responded in a tone of voice that sounded like he was complaining.
4) Finally, my bill came as the last one, but the server got the calculation wrong. He messed up his numbers, but he tried to reframe it as an offer we should appreciate by saying, "There's $495 remaining to be paid but your orders were $522. I'll charge you $495 and that means I'm charging you less than what you've ordered."

While it does take longer to handle split bills, splitting bills isn't an unusual request and most restaurants I've been to are ready to process that relatively efficiently. Our server's terrible attitude left us with this conclusion: Dining is about experience. Experience tells us we'll not go to Alchemy Lounge again, and I'll warn friends against going.
