SenRyo is def the better of the sushi chains. This one is bigger than the one on Paterson Street, and in the basement level of Times Sq. I like the self-serve green tea. I am a thirsty person, I need constant refills and hate hailing down waiters. Thank god they give you a little plate, not just a sauce dish. I like sharing and struggle with just a sauce dish and nothing to rest my sushi when I take a smaller bite with dripping sauce. Decor is nicer than other CWB sushi chains for sure.

They have really good value lunch sets (on weekdays). And have a very good assortment on the rotator belts. Also have done the math on sushi vs. sashimi. Believe they downsized their sashimi portions, so getting the sushi is actually better value plus you get the rice addition (you can not eat it if you prefer sashimi). This applies especially to the sweet shrimp, scallop. I'd def recommend ordering specific things via the waiter instead of picking it off the belt, such as the sweet egg and any type of roll with something fried (bc it will be nice and hot vs. cold and neglected off the belt). A must get there is the very cheap Soft Shell Crab handroll - always a sure bet for $18.
Sizing it up: In terms of value and taste, it is the best value and quality in Causeway. Compared to Itame and Itacho Sushi (related chains I believe that have ridiculous waits and Itacho trapping you in some mall with a maze to find the exit), Ha-Ne Sushi on Jaffe Rd (gross and had cold/still frozen sushi that the waiter didnt even apologize for - also the fact this place is on street level and doesnt even have windows, but is covered up...shady...) and the rest of the others around Causeway. Although I'd admit that its eel sushi and sea urchin hand roll is not as good/big as Itame's. I hate squeezing the eel sauce from a separate pouch...I mean I'm in a restaurant, why do I have to do any work... Portions are not as big as Monster Sushi, but decent - although not very consistent (comparing the sushi/sashimi slices on the belt ---some are huge and thick and others are not...). Def worth the visit - I'd go to Times Sq basement one bc larger seating.
