This is a new takeaway shop in Tai On Building. It replaces my favorite 山王牛肉饭 and so I decided to give it a try after getting pass the sad fact that 山王 has closed down.Ordered XO酱鸡粒炒饭. Got it 5 mins later. My first impression was that it is so heavy!After I got back and opened the box, I realized why. The whole box is packed with rice! After I got back and opened the box, I realized why. The whole box is packed with rice! At the end, I could only finish the whole box in 2 meals.
But to me, quantity does not really matter, quality does. And this fried rice did not fail me.
First of all, it got a tan colour on each grain. Overnight rice was probably used because the rice did not stick with each other. I asked the shop to give me more green onion and it turned out I can have a few pieces of that in each spoon. The amount of diced chicken was reasonable. The whole dish was also packed with flavor, or in Chinese full of 镬气. It is quite hard to find such high quality fried rice nowadays even in those top-tier restaurants. I was really surprised that a small place like this can do a even better job.
Will definitely come back for their takeaways. Will try spaghetti next time.
