Came here for lunch as I saw this mentioned in a magazine that focuserd on retro themed restaurants.Hooray is located in the Fortress Hill area, right behind the AIA building. It's a small (and I mean SMALL) shop that has a retro like decor. It is geared for take away, however, there is limited seating in the back.Yes, back meaning you go into the building adjoining and there are a few fold away tables and chairs behind a plastic curtain with a decent amount of air conditioning. Yes, back meaning you go into the building adjoining and there are a few fold away tables and chairs behind a plastic curtain with a decent amount of air conditioning. Life doesn't get more ghetto than this.

The little eating area is interestingly decorated. Their walls are just plastered with old Hong Kong mangas.

The tables are lined with an old Hong Kong calendar.

And the ceiling? Childrens drawings. In an odd way, it had it's charms.

Menu is a simple piece of paper where you check off what you want. It's also all in Chinese. There is no English available. Basically what they serve is cart noodles. You get a basic noodle and add whatever you want with it.

For my noodles, I chose flat noodles with a soy marinaded chicken wing, mini Chinese red sausage and a cheese cod roe ball. The total price was $38. Noodles were ok. Chewy enough but there was a bit of starchy after taste. The mini Chinese red sausage tasted the same as the usual red sausae but in a smaller size. The chicken wing was a bit bland.

The cheese cod roe ball was perhaps the best item. It was runny and cheesy. I quite liked it and perfect for hotpot.

Boyfriend had the rice with minced pork and chicken wings for $38. Rice was ok. Not overly wet and not overly dry. The egg yolk wasn't dried out like most marinated egg and reminded me a bit of the eggs served at ramen places. Oddly, the chicken wings here were not bland but more saltier. It even looked darker in color. I wonder why mine was bland?

Over all ok but not great. A nice theme place where service was friendly and helpful enough. However, not worth returning as for a cart noodle place, it's really not excellent.
