Had dinner here with friends the other night and to my disappointment, it did not live up to its reputation nor expectation. The food on the whole was decent, however not value for money. We ordered two of their most expensive sets (US Beef on Bone) as it was our first time and wanted to try out their food.- Ordered their oyster promotion (Coffin Bay) @ $25/pcs.............this was actually a very good deal which included a glass of wine. (Will go back and just have this)!- Crab cake and Foie Gr

- Crab cake and Foie Gras was decent
- Onion soup was VERY GOOD! but was disappointed in the Lobster Bisque as well as the portion of the soup (it came in a coffee cup)
- US Beef on Bone.......well it was not bad, but for the money and advertisment, it was a disappointment.
(I can think of a few better places in terms of food quality and price for the same thing)!!
However, as mentioned, overall it was alright, just not value for money and that I've had better in terms of food quality vs paying for this price.
What really disappointed us the most was the level of service. It's scary to see that some restaurants actually dare to charge service charge when their level of service is no where near exceptable.
- Servers were reluctant in serving
- Service staff were at times rude w/ their body language
- Operational standards were not of a fine dining restaurant (for christ sake, the restaurant had table cloth..... I would expect a high standard of service)!
Bare in mind, I'm comparing this restaurant with places like:
- Ruth Chris
- Hugo's
- Morton's
- BLT Steak
If you enjoy steak and if you are a meat lover, the choices here are good, but not a place that you would go often or again, as you will feel that what you are paying and the level of service and food quality you are getting in return is in fact questionable.
In the words of a food critic, 'The food was not orgasmic'!
