Our expectation was high for our meal at Burgeroom, but we were slightly disappointed.

We ordered two hamburgers with cheese and a side of the strawberry fries (we just had to try them).  The fries came out first and were strange but palatable to begin with.  The fries themselves were nice - crispy and fluffy inside; made from real potatoes.  The strawberry sauce very quickly lost its novelty and became increasingly sickly.  

The burgers followed and were huge.  They were tall burgers and cut in half with sticks in them to keep their integrity.  They were served with a thousand island-style sauce.  The problem is that the sauce is strongly flavoured so you can't really put ketchup or mustard on the burger because they have taken the decision out of your hands.  The cheese, which cost an extra 10 dollars, was just Kraft American cheese, so we were kind of annoyed.  10 dollars should buy some cheddar or gouda really.  

The patties were juicy and well cooked (almost medium, but could have been a little rarer).  The main issue was that they were seasoned with salt, but not pepper, so they were not that tasty, but salty in patches.  The bun was fine - soft and seeded.

If the burgers didn't cost 70 HKD a piece, I would be more forgiving, but as it is a high-end burger, it should live up to its price range.

It's OK, but not as good as the hype.
