This is a Xinjiang style restaurant along Pok Fu Lam road (close to the new The Summa luxury development). I've heard they are well known for their lamb dishes but more importantly I wanted to try out Xinjiang cuisine!Ordered a cumin lamb with tossed noodles and a original lassi (iced thick yogurt).The tossed noodles were a bit salty and were tossed in sesame sauce (tasting a bit like sesame butter or peanut butter sauce - it's the same sauce you get in Northern Chinese cold tossed noodles). The tossed noodles were a bit salty and were tossed in sesame sauce (tasting a bit like sesame butter or peanut butter sauce - it's the same sauce you get in Northern Chinese cold tossed noodles). There was not much lamb given and the cumin taste was not very detectable. The lamb was reasonably tender but without the strong lamb-y flavor (羊臊味) so lamb aficionados may feel a tad disappointed!
The iced yogurt drink was good - tasted like Greek yogurt with ice and sesame seeds and a good cooling down drink in this hot weather!
The bill came up to $50 for the noodles and the $28 for the lassi, which was ok.
Ambience was good with attentive service and comfortable chairs.
All in all, not a bad try if you're in the area and craving for some lamb noodles, but I probably wouldn't make a special trip here just for Xinjiang food.
