Being recommended the "real local" spots is not always amazing. This was the purest example. Located in a rather strange 3rd floor level above a market, right next to the fly-over in Mong Kok, nobody would ever find this randomly. You have to know where you're going.Now, I am adddddicted to congee... I crave it multiple times a month. The soft, comforting bowl that washes away all tears. Now, I am adddddicted to congee... I crave it multiple times a month. The soft, comforting bowl that washes away all tears. I had some pretty darn good ones in Hong Kong over the years, so I decided to try this.
The locale is right up my alley with just the correct amount of grime and shabbiness. The food, however, is famous for being cooked in copper pots, and i'm afraid it does impart a flavour which tastes medicinal. This might be a lot of peoples reason for going here, but i'll stick to places I know that make it the regular way.
A good experience, but I won't be back.
