It has been a long time since i last dined out with my parents, thus i decided to bring them out for dinner tonight. I decided to bring them to Tai Yuen Lou, as my friend told me that the review was quite good even though it was opened not long ago. It was located several minutes walk from Fortress Hill MTR.It served seafood, meat, vegetables, soup, rice, noodles, dim sum, cold dishes and desserts etc. It offered Cantonese, Sichuan, Shanghai and Beijing cuisine. It served seafood, meat, vegetables, soup, rice, noodles, dim sum, cold dishes and desserts etc. It offered Cantonese, Sichuan, Shanghai and Beijing cuisine.
Steamed pork bun - The skin was soft and the soup was hot and juicy. Pork filling was chewy and flavourful as well.
Fried bean curd - The serving was quite huge, and it was fried till the skin was crispy, and yet the beancurd was very soft and smooth, melting in my mouth.
Braised vegetables in broth - Soup broth was clear and sweet, able to drink it. Vegetables were crunchy and juicy, not oily at all.
Dan dan noodle with spare ribs - Spare ribs was very crispy and juicy, chewy as well. Dan dan noodles were chewy, and the soup was slightly thick in texture and a little spicy too.
Deep fried souffle ball with mashed red bean - This was one of their signature desserts and it was fried till crispy and warm. Red bean was sweet and egg taste was strong as well.
