Yau Yat Chuen Garden City Club is a private member's only club that located in Kowloon Tong that houses restaurants and spors facilities. As a few of my cousins are members here, they arranged to have a wedding banquet for my cousin's son. And thus, you find me here. Stuck in a wedding banquet with various aunts and uncles, cousins and their children. And in some case, cousin's children's children. Yeah ... Yau Yat Chuen Garden City Club is a private member's only club that located in Kowloon Tong that houses restaurants and spors facilities. As a few of my cousins are members here, they arranged to have a wedding banquet for my cousin's son. And thus, you find me here. Stuck in a wedding banquet with various aunts and uncles, cousins and their children. And in some case, cousin's children's children. Yeah ... I have a big family.

The wedding banquet was situated in the place where the Chinese restaurant is located. They took up the entire area that evening. It was spacious, with a plenty of room. No pillars blocking anything so I could get a clear view of the wedding videos that ran throughout the night.

Anyways ... on to the food!

Roast Pork with Steamed Pancakes. The skin was very crispy and there was actually a lot of meat still on it. It was laid on a small steamed pancake that was tasted ok.

Scallops and Razor Back Clams with Vegetables. Scallops were not overcooked. The vegatables were nice though a bit too oily.

Crab Claw Wrapped with Shrimp Meat. Quite a big size. The shrimp meat had a nice firm texture.

Braised Dried Scallop with Pea Sprouts. This I think was the best of the evening. The pea sprouts were flavored with the rich flavor of the dried scallops. Everything was moist and tender.

Shark Fin Soup. I was surprised to see shark fin soup on the banquet menu as it's been a long time since I've had this in any of the wedding banquets I've attended. But I suppose my aunt (who's grandson is the one getting married) required this as a must have. It tasted ok with plenty of shark fin inside.

Braised Abalone with Goosefoot and Shitake Mushrooms. This tasted fairly good. The abalone was braised well. The goosefoot was tender.

Steamed Garoupa. The fish was steamed perfectly. Not over done at all. Quite a feat for banquet food as most of the time it's over done.

Osthamus Jelly. This is a favorite of mine whenever I come here for dim sum as I think they do a pretty good job. Not too sweet but with a strong taste of the osthamus  tea. There are plenty of golgi berries as well.

There was also fried rice, noodles and chicken but I was too full so I skipped it.

Food was quite good for a clubhouse setting. Service was great as the staff knew everyone there as we appear every so often whenever we are there for a family gathering.
