Went to this restaurant on a rainy Friday evening. We arrived at 7:30pm and it was already quite full. As it was raining, the terrace was closed. Otherwise I think it would be quite nice to sit outside. The interior of the dinning room is modern and simple. My husband ordered the Abalone Salad for starter, Rib-Eye Steak as the main cause, and Chocolate Pudding as the desert. As for myself I ordered the Salted cod with Poached Egg (the menu call it "soft cooked" egg, I think this is a wrong word), the Lamb Rack and Orange Souffle. All washed down with glasses of agreeable house white & house red.
The portion of the Abalone Salad looked small, but was actually quite generous. It had thinly sliced abalone on top of some fresh greens. The taste blended together very well.
The salted cod was definitely home made as it was only lightly salted and tender (commercial salted cod are usually much tougher). The poached egg was perfectly cooked and the salad greens that served together was fresh and crunchy. Good.
Both the Rib-eye steak and the lamb rack were cooked to the perfect doneness (medium rare). The meat were of very high quality, tender and juicy. The portion were rather generous. We have nothing to complain.
I didn't try my husband's dessert, as I am not a big fan of chocolate. It was a small cake with melted chocolate inside. It looked fancy but in fact very staight forward to make (I've baked this before). According to hubby, it was as good as my production. Thanks, hubby.
My orange souffle was small and adorable (forgot to take picture). It came with some fresh fruit and cream. The souffle was light and melt in the mouth, with a hint of orange in it. I like it.
The most disappointihg part of the meal was the coffee. It was of very poor quality. However, it is very common for restaurant to serve lousy coffee. Mind you, it is the same in France.
Overall, it was a very pleasant evening. The food was impressive, and the service efficient. I can't wait to try their Sunday Brunch.
