At first we wanted to try an Indian restaurant in the area, but seeing that no tables were occupied there, we came to this restaurant which I had tried before. Not exactly a smart move, as the whole restaurant was kind of empty when we got there (around 7pm). We were seated at a "ka wai", but we very quickly found that the seats were dirty, and moved elsewhere. Not exactly a smart move, as the whole restaurant was kind of empty when we got there (around 7pm). We were seated at a "ka wai", but we very quickly found that the seats were dirty, and moved elsewhere. Then a few minutes later my friend complained that there were bugs biting her - small mozzies or fleas, we can't tell. Then we moved again, to the window seats. It seemed to be better, but half way through the meal we were BOTH attacked by bugs. @_@
We ordered two mains and one drink. The food's clearly not authentic Indonesian (I've had better and authentic Indonesian food in CWB) but it's not bad. The service was mediocre, and one Putonghua-speaking server tried to trick us when we were ordering, saying twice that the 黄姜饭 we ordered was a small portion and not enough for 2 people. But we were ordering TWO mains, not only that one dish! She said the small one only has 4 kinds of ingredients, but when the dish came we saw that there were 8.... -______-" who was she trying to fool? And we found it weird that we were ordering in Cantonese throughout and she replied in Putonghua every time. Hmmmm this is Hong Kong, and servers are supposed to speak in the official languages, no?
We've come to the conclusion that we won't be going back to this restaurant. It's not hygienic, and the food's not spectacular!
