Came here for lunch purely by accident--all of the other lunch options in Harbour City seemed to have a line (or a messy cluster) of people in front of them, and this one was the most empty and family-looking one. And this is the BEST accidental restaurant discovery I've made in a long long time and made me happy to be alive at such a glorious time in human history (due angel choir music). We had five adults and two kids, not a small party, and the wait staff were very very understanding and incr
We had five adults and two kids, not a small party, and the wait staff were very very understanding and incredibly courteous and observant. We were provided with baby chairs, plastic kids utensils, water and menu within 30 seconds of sitting down, and whenever one cup seemed low on water, the waiter would come by within the blink of an eye with a handy pitcher of refill water for everyone--this happened continually throughout our meal even though we were sitting rather off to the side and even after every other table filled out, which is an impressive testament to the professionalism and attentiveness of the wait staff.
The buffet was beautifully laid out and not so large and broadly spread as to be overwhelming with meaningless variety. There's a side board full of cheeses, olives (glorious, enormous olives that makes you think of sunny afternoons lounging under olive trees in private gardens in Tuscany) and grapes, a table for dessert and a bar of seafood (the shrimps were gloriously fresh) and soup and hot items. I loved it all, particularly the fresh tomato soup--sour and thick and not too overwhelmingly spiced, with the goodness of the tomatoes shining through.
We had entrees on top of the buffet, which unfortunately turned out to be just a little too much ,but the entrees themselves were fantastic and I feel they would be more perfect if we had the empty stomachs to appreciate them more. I had the lobster linguini, which had a nice grilled half lobster sprawled out on top of liguini tossed with fresh tomatoes--loved the tomato sauce. My dining companions had the seabass (crispy skin, tender meat and lightly tossed baby greens, the perfect summer lunch) and rib eye (excellently done, juicy and yet not too pink).
As for dessert, the tiny plates of creme brulees were excellent--eggy, not too overwhelmingly sweet and just enough to provide a lovely, subtle book end to a luxuriously tasty lunch.
