Friend knows the owner and so was able to arrange a dinner for 16 on her own birthday. Pre-ordered food including all the signature dishes:西施梅菜扣肉: a bit salty, made me wanna drink water the whole night爷爷盐焗鸡: tender, nicely done, flavour strong enough but not overwhelming爷爷腐皮脆咪卷: crispy on the outside, tender on the insideGlutinous rice 丸子(蒸) : i love glutinous stuff, the texture was chewy but not sticky, but there wasn't much taste to it青瓜糟汁虾: the courgette (we had a debate whether it was cucum

青瓜糟汁虾: the courgette (we had a debate whether it was cucumber or courgette, decided on the latter) was bland despite a heavy coating of sauce, the prawns were decent, but didn't taste jet fresh
Watermelon soup : lots of nicely diced pork, mushrooms, prawns etc, but the LOTUS SEED WAS SOUR AND TASTED LIKE MOULD!!! We told the waiter who said he would tell the manager, but obviously that didn't happen...
Red fried rice: light, not oily, went nicely with the other dishes
had to ask waiters several times to change our dishes before they got round to it... a bit inattentive with refilling tea etc... but that can be forgiven coz dinner was quite inexpensive (maybe my friend struck a good deal with the manager friend)
