Actually, I've dined here during X'mas dinner w/my bst frnd n'her family! Maybe coz it was X'mas it was much more quieter and found the surroundings to be much more enjoyable!This time came here for dinner w/a friend. We both like trying out new restaurants so I took her here to try. Even though I made reservations in the morning, when we got there, we only got the last little table by the aisle by the walkway...cant say I'm not disappointed.However, I find the food here is pretty good. However, I find the food here is pretty good. Green Apple serves up California style food, with pasta, a selection appetizers, a wide range of salads (HK$78-$148). However they only have about 5 or 6 main courses to choose from. (2 steak selection, chicken, salmon, and sausage)
Though I think the portion size are rather small for its prices (however they do use fresh ingredients like fresh mushrooms and etc), the restaurant does offers "half portions" on some of the dishes. (I wonder how small is 'half portions', maybe only 1 or 2 bites)
Apple green seats around 60-70 people. I do find they try to squeeze the tables too close together, hence the noise in the small restaurant was hard to even pick up a phone call during dinner! (My friend had to go outside in order to take her call) The decor is a little too "cold" w/hardwood floors and wooden chairs, it felt more like an upscale "Wonton Noodles" restaurant than a nice cafe. With the restaurant being in full capacity, it was too noisy to have a nice dinner and chat through coffee.
However, I do have to say, as someone working in a 5-star establishment, that Green Apple's service was above average (for a casual restaurants in Hong Kong). Management really know how to train its staff.
The waitstaff were pretty attentive, filling water and changing our plates w/o being asked to do so. The food order came quickly as well even though the restaurant was 90% full!
Overall, for a casual American restaurant, I do give it a thumbs up!
