Decided to try this restaurant after reading on Eat Drink Man Woman magazine.Made a reservation so no need to wait.Small restaurant, 3 to 4 tables on ground floor. Not sure what's on second floor.Some nice decoration and wine shelf. I think the owner is also there yesterday, he was saying these are wine he personally liked.Menu is all set meal. 280 HKD + service charge, for a 4 course meal. Decided to try this restaurant after reading on Eat Drink Man Woman magazine.

Made a reservation so no need to wait.

Small restaurant, 3 to 4 tables on ground floor. Not sure what's on second floor.

Some nice decoration and wine shelf. I think the owner is also there yesterday, he was saying these are wine he personally liked.

Menu is all set meal. 280 HKD + service charge, for a 4 course meal. Thought was good price for western food in Happy Valley.

First course was snail, tastey but food was not hot enough, feel warm on plate. Also my wife food didn't arrive till 10 minutes later. It's no excuse why they cannot serve at the same time.

Second course was soup. Long wait again. Wife had baked oyster soup (quite good). I had baked lobster soup (only so-so). Portion was abit small. Feels abit watery. Also they served soup with the big long serving spoon instead of the round soup spoon. 

Third course. I had rib-eye. quite tender, but food feels abit cold, and not enough beef taste. Wife had Dover Sole. This was actually quite tastey. And portions were big.

Dessert, I had creme bulee (not burnt enough) and wife had napoleon (not good). 

Service was okay and I can see they are making an effort. But this feels like a kindof chinese style western food. But if you ask me I like Sunning restaurant more for similar food.

Also they should turn the lights down to create a warmer atmosphere.
