Items ordered:
Caliburger cheeseburger: $56 HKD
Buffalo Chicken Wings: $38 HKD
a softdrink $16 HKD
French fries: NOT AVAILABLE therefore NO COMBO option and NO COMBO substitute.
Total: $110 HKD = $14.20 USD
Verdict:
The burger was freshly made with an appropriate good taste. Slightly greasy but that is expected based on the cooking methodology. (griddle vs grill) The staff did not know how to dry the lettuce off properly and thus wrung the lettuce leaves like wet clothing. This caused extreme bruising to what would have been a crispy iceberg lettuce experience. This is a training problem and should be addressed immediately.
The wings were sauced well and served with blue cheese dip. Very greasy but it was a good taste. No value in this proposition. 5 chicken wings for 38 HKD puts the cost per wing at 7.6. Unacceptable for fast food. Who in the right mind wants to pay 7.6 HKD per chicken wing served in a paper box. No celery and No carrot sticks. Very very dissapointed in the value metrics for this item. You will feel cheated and it will feel like theft.
The soda: As expected. Right amount of ice mixture with liquid content. Overpriced. @ 16 HKD I would ditch the soda and bring in something purchased from 7-11 and cite it as my medicinal beverage.
Overall:
Restaurant was overstaffed in excess. There were 9 staff working with what looked to be like a manager or owner wearing an off colored shirt. Only a maximum of 4 staff are required to run a location that size. I tried to order a combo to get value but they ran out of french fries. Dissapointment. Then to make things worse I was not offered an option at a softdrink discount. Normally people buy a combo to gain access to a value proposition. I was given none. Caliburger was a promising portal to something as close as possible to In N Out burger. It does not only fall short, it misses the mark completly. Offering excitment to new customers but failing to deliever. You will leave feeling like you've been slightly robbed. Some would compensate it by saying they were able to charge their phone for a few minutes at no cost.
Verdict: save your money and go elsewhere for a burger. BLT in TST, the Press Room, even Simply Life offers a better proposition.
