As a westerner living in HK for almost 8 years, one thing I miss most from England is proper fish & chips. It's quite impossible to find in HK.This place has it half right. The fish is very nice, with batter at just the right crispiness and the fish meat is nice and tender.However, the chips are terrible. They are just normal chips that you would expect from anywhere. However, the chips are terrible. They are just normal chips that you would expect from anywhere. The thing about English "chippy" chips is that they should be very soft and quite squishy. The chips here are nothing more than shallow fried rubbish.
You can only really get proper "Chippy" chips by cooking them in a massive DEEP fryer like the ones you get in England. That's the key.
If you are craving for a nice English Chippy-style fish, then this is the place for you.
If you want English Chippy-style chips, then don't bother.
