This mall is often a place we pass through on our way to Hung Hom. There really isn't anything there but I like to look at a snack shop there. We noticed the food court has been renovated lately and we went to take a look. As we haven't had lunch, we decided to eat at this stall called 新加坡海南鸡餐馆 (no English name). It seemed to be the most busy so it must be a good thing, right?Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. You can order at the food stall or by touch screen menus
Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. You can order at the food stall or by touch screen menus found in the food court area. Prices were very inexpensive and all come with a drink or hot soup. Boyfriend ordered a Fried Flatten Rice Noodle with Beef and Satay ($47). This didn't have a lot of flavour though it was stir fried quite dry and not clumped together. Just not a lot of flavour. I had the Hainan Chicken Rice Set ($57). I opted for an ice drink instead of soup because it was a bit too warm outside for soup. It says Plain Chicken Rice Set on the menu but this is actually Hainan chicken rice. I suppose it's a translational error. The rice portion was a lot. It was lightly flavoured with the taste of chicken oil. Yet it didn't feel too oily. The set came with a big plate of vegetables. These were gailan. Not overcooked as well! The portion of chicken was generous. It also tasted fairly good. Lightly seasoned and not too fat. They gave me a bit of thigh and wing so it wasn't all bones.
The Hainan chicken set fared much better than what boyfriend ordered. The newly renovated food court is now a lot more clean with hand washing stations and free water as well. A wonderful change before it was renovated.
