Celebrated J's bday tonight with mah biatches at Noble Spice. Love my biatches. :} Love us forever!Anyway. I had instructed E to procure these lovely edibles. We had gotten into some sort of an ambiguous argument about which cake to get. Not sure how the argument ended. But thank you for getting them from IFC and carrying them over in a box. Must've been tiring. And those 7 flights of stairs we had to climb up because the elevator at Noble Spice had broken down. Gosh. All that exercise cert
Anyway. Gosh. All that exercise certainly warranted a huge dinner!
Around $40 per cake.
Food:
Salted caramel mille-feuille I like sweet things yeah. Just that my circumference don't give me much allowance. ._. Not too sweet, but sweet enough to satisfy my craving for some sweet food after each and every meal. I could rake my fork through two of these no problem without feeling too guilty like you would with cheesecakes/chocolate cakes. Hehee. We were a party of four so I guilelessly demolished the 3 lovely layers into a sad, sorry pile of rubble - sorry sight but mm it did taste good. Light and airy. dry, not soggy. Crisp, but not crunchy. Flaky, not matted. Salted caramel cream was...actually i didn't taste a lot of it. But the little that I had added an extra dimension of creaminess to the dessert, which is a necessary complement or else the whole thing would've been, too dry. Anyway. I recommend this dessert.
Pear something Pear tasted like pear. Good knife skills there. Very even thin slices of boiled pear. Oh no I've already forgotten what the body tasted like. I remember a bit of sponge. And a mousse filling. It was pretty, and quite light. A rather light, clean dessert. Didn't leave a lot of aftertaste in the mouth. Quite refreshing compared to the other two. Mm. This is actually pretty good too.
Yuzu cheesecake You still gotta have some cheesecake to conclude a trio of desserts nicely. Hehee. This cheesecake was not too heavy. The yuzu flavour came through quite strong, I liked it. Cheese itself was moderately soft, but it held its shape, and yielded easily to the fork. The base is also yummy. I ate a lot of this. Good cheesecake just always manages to satisfy. Sigh. Cheese glorious cheese.
Conclusion:
I ended up eating the most, again. My friends weren't very helpful. They started strong but ended on a weak note. And there goes my workout. Actually. There is a dilemma I have yet to resolve. Which cake do I like most??? The mille-feuille certainly was very professionally made but which one would I go for to satisfy my sweet tooth??
I don't know. And I haven't even tried everything at petite Amanda.
Guess I'll have to come back soon to deliver a fair judgment. >) Hehee.
