To celebrate the new purchase of a new NIKON camera, this is my first time bringing that baby out for a meal. Despite that fact that the lens is super heavy, the quality shows in the photos. I am still fiddling with the function of this new DSLR camera but I hope that my photos are going to give my viewers a new feel of the food and restaurant environment that I shoot. To celebrate the new purchase of a new NIKON camera, this is my first time bringing that baby out for a meal. Despite that fact that the lens is super heavy, the quality shows in the photos. I am still fiddling with the function of this new DSLR camera but I hope that my photos are going to give my viewers a new feel of the food and restaurant environment that I shoot.
Some monthly seasonal drinks are available at the restaurant. One is alcoholic while the other is not. The kiwi drink is extremely refreshing with just a right amount of sourness from the fresh kiwi juice, while the other one has a good hint of whisky taste to it.
Lobster Bisque $108The bisque is served hot with freshly crushed pepper at your table. The soup is thick and rich with a savoury taste from the lobster. The cream is to add a layer of smooth texture and to balance out with the richness from the soup. Some pieces of lobster meat can be found in the soup!
California Eggs Benedict $88Do you fancy your eggs benedict with smoked salmon, ham, or bacon? We like ours in California way with healthy avocado and tomato. Bricklane has earned its reputation from egg benedicts for years, so they have definitely nailed their perfect poached eggs as well as the Hollandaise sauce, which is not too sour nor rich. Everything was just on point in this dish, the English muffins are perfectly toasted and remained crunchy even after those runny egg yolks and sauces.
Besides, it's particularly healthy from the avocado as it gives a good amount of healthy fat to nourish your body. Since then, we are hooked with Cali eggs benedict!
Beef Burger $165Bricklane is not just about eggs benedict, they do serve a good range of a la carte menu with lots of mains, salad, and we have chosen a classic cheese burger. The restaurant uses 8oz USDA prime beef pattie, with melted savoury flavourful cheese, and thick cut chips on the side.
Crispy Bacon & Caramelised Banana Skillet Pancake $88Forget about the Japanese style fluffy pancakes, we are so into smoking hot Dutch baby pancakes over here! Instead of going for the sweet version, we have chosen the bacon and banana one because it just sounded like a bomb! Perfectly crusted edges, with perfectly caramelised bacon and banana slices, along with a generous amount of maple syrup at the bottom.
The pancake itself is still light and fluffy in the middle. Though maple syrup is used, this savoury dessert is not too sweet but it's deliciously indulging with a perfectly balance between sweetness and savouriness! We are so coming back again to try their truffle chicken pancake next time!
At last, you don't wanna skip their chocolate as they use 95% chocolate to make this goodness which is topped with some whipped cream. It's sweet but not overly sweetened, a romantic finish to a casual meal in my point of view.
