Around 2 weeks ago, someone gave me the coupon of a new French take-away shop "Chez Meli Melo" at Sheung Wan MTR exit. This is $4 coupon, back of the coupon which showed what kind of food is available for selling here. Mainly selling French sandwiches and salad. Food has already made. If you want to order something special, it takes 5~10 minutes. Daily soup and fruit juice in can are also available here. Beside of me, the rest of the customers are foreigners.This shop is located end of Hilier
This shop is located end of Hilier Street and near Queen's Road Central where is commercial and living area. So convenient and good location! I heard that the boss is a French woman, sandwiches and salad are traditional in French style! It sounds great! Let's try!
Sandwiches are made of French bread with 8 inches long, there are 9 kinds of flavor. Such as Parisien ( French cooked ham, French gherkin, butter ), Crudities Poulet ( chicken, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise ), La Mousserelle ( French Duck Mousse with Potwine, lettuce ). Price is around $42 ~ $48.
Salad ( Choice of home made dressing : Balsamic, Vinaigrette, Mayonnaise )
There are 6 kinds of salad. For example : Salade au Thon ( Tune, lettuce, cherry tomato, carrot, Frisee ), Salade Vegetarienne ( Zucchini, Romaine, cherry tomato, carrot, Frisee, walnut ), Salade de Pates ( Pasta, bacon, Zucchini, cherry tomato ) Price is $48 for small size and $56 for large size.
For my lunch, I ordered Salad X sandwiches $40 ( used $4 coupon )
Sandwiches Crudities Thon - French bread with linseed for half with 4 inches long ( tuna, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise ) Food is simple & fresh. The bread is a little bit crispy! It is healthy with linseed!
Salad - Salade Vegetarienne ( Zucchini, Romaine, cherry tomato, carrot, Frisee, walnut ) with Vinaigrette. Maybe I don't use to eat French salad. I think it is ok! Not delicious as I expected! Vegetables can help digestion!
Soup : Vegetable soup $10
Daily soup is different everyday! It will write on the little blackboard at the shop. It is vegetable soup that day, the staff gave a little cup of soup for my free drinking. It tastes good! I decided to buy it! It is made of potato, carrot, onion and it is stirred by a stirrer. By the way, it is no oil which is so healthy for me! I really recommend!
Anyway! As the weather is gettting cold. I'm afraid I will buy it again until it gets warm!
