Mikoto 海言’s seafood selection has shifted slightly with the season, but the quality remains excellent. As usual, we ordered two different sashimi rice bowls:
𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗺𝗶 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝘄𝗹 (𝗗𝗲𝗹𝘂𝘅𝗲)

- Sawara (䲠鱼) & Sukesou-dai (梳子鱼) – Sawara has a buttery texture, while Sukesou-dai is firmer with a mild sweetness.
- Kin-sen-dai (金扇鲷) & Anago (穴子) – The Kin-sen-dai is delicate, and the Anago is melt-in-your-mouth soft with a sweet glaze.
𝗢𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗺𝗶 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝘄𝗹
This one had a few extra touches:
- Akaebi (赤虾) – Seasoned with shrimp oil and garlic, adding depth.
- Diced fish with mentaiko (鱼粒伴明太子) – A slightly spicy, umami-packed mix of Hirame (平目鱼), Kinmedai (金目鲷), and Sawara (䲠鱼).
- Salmon (三文鱼), Uni (海胆), Shirako (白子), Matsuba crab (松叶蟹), Kohada (小肌), Deep-sea Ike fish (深海池鱼), Saba stick (鲭鱼棒), Isaki (伊佐木)– A mix of rich, creamy, and fresh flavors, with the Shirako and Matsuba crab standing out for their silky textures.
Mikoto 海言’s seasonal updates keep things interesting, and the Omakase bowl this time had some fun variations in seasoning. Still a great spot if you’re into high-quality sashimi!
