Living in Western District, it's really easy to jump on a 58 minibus down to Aberdeen if you suddenly get a craving for some seafood (assuming the van gets you there in one piece). The menu is only in Chinese and they don't speak English, so ordering can be a bit of a challenge for this 鬼仔.I asked for 'zing yu' (steamed fish) and what we got was 果皮蒸泥鯭, very delicious. I also ordered broccoli, fried; what came was this - looks tasty but it isn't broccoli! Actually it belonged to the next table, b

Actually it belonged to the next table, but they were very busy - loads of temporary tables spread out everywhere, even in the fire exit staircase - and so they are easily mixed up. The restaurant looks like it's been squeezed into a corner in the building and it's a bit dingy. Anyway, we sent it back and this came instead:
The squid was excellent, not chewy at all, and the broccoli tasted of ginger and garlic but not too strong, just right.Black bean fried clams, also delicious but quite a few closed ones
The staff are very friendly even if they don't understand you! All in, HK$245 for two incl. one large Carlsberg & 3 bowls rice.
The gai see in Aberdeen is a bit dirty - a very local place that you might not take your folks if they are in town unless they really want a taste of local HK!
