It was a Saturday afternoon and we were looking for a bite before heading to the Sumosushisake event. To avoid walking back and forth, we decided to settle at Burgeroom, which was conveniently located on the way to the event. There was a line up at the door, but fortunately we were seated after a brief 10 minute wait.As the name suggests, the place is quite small and extremely packed, which is, like a room; 40 people were sitting back-to-back at small tables. As the name suggests, the place is quite small and extremely packed, which is, like a room; 40 people were sitting back-to-back at small tables. If you are looking to enjoy a burger in a comfortable and spacious environment, then you'd be better off at McSorley's or Main St Deli, just to name two other places with quality burgers. But there's a reason that the place is crowded: the burgers here do have some unorthodox combinations that you rarely see elsewhere, including foie gras burger, lobster burger, soft shell crab burger etc.
We ended up ordering a foie gras beef burger(HK$145) and a pineapple bacon burger combo(HK$78 + 22).
First of all, both burgers were of a nice portion, I'm guessing the burgers were about 4 inches thick. The foie gras beef burger was very rich, with a fat juicy piece of foie gras and a succulent patty. If you love rich flavors, then you'd definitely love this, I know I did. The pineapple bacon burger also sported that juicy thick patty. The tangy flavours of the pineapple cut right through the fat and meaty flavour of the patty, making for a more refreshing but equally filling burger. Not an original recipe, but pineapple and meat never fails.
Nothing much to say about Snapple, its Made from the Best Stuff on Earth. But that's unrelated, it's not related to Burgeroom anyway.
Also, worth a mention are the fries. I like my fries shoestring and with the skin on, and of course crispy. The fries here fit the bill quite well, not the best fries I ever had, but quite deecnt.

A decent burger or something more exotic. Definitely good for curbing hunger!
