After half a year, I finally get my hands on la petite Amanda's goodies. The first time I went to petite Amanda, I had hardly enough room to walk around. The baguette was of medium size. There was a larger one that cost $28, but my mom wanted try the smaller one first. At common bakeries, baguettes would normally cost $10-$20, depending on the size. So $21 is quite a reasonable price, especially since petite Amanda is located in Central. Even though this baguette did not just come out of the oven, it was still freshly made. The sweet aroma of the bread was tempting me to take a bite at it. I would have succumbed if we were not already on our way home in the MTR. I am surprised we only tried the baguette the following day. How could anyone resist, really! As for the cakes, they were a delight. Coincidentally, all three were mousse based - one of my preferred kinds. First on the list was Amarina.

The little cherry (macarron) mainly made me choose this pistachio and cherry jelly dessert. Next, came the X-mas Log, so to be in the festive spirit.

Last on the list, was the top star of petite Amanda: Charlotte aux poires.

Out of these three, I preferred the Charlotte aux Poires the least. Probably because it was slightly too sweet for me. But the slices of pear remain really fresh. The X-mas Log and the Amarina, both were satisfyingly soft and great. The brown "A" paper on each cake was so finely printed, we thought it was chocolate until we put it in our mouths.
Perhaps, petite Amanda could actually make them into chocolate chips?
If I happen to pass by again, I might order a hot drink and a snack for an afternoon tea at ifc.

题外话/补充资料: [b]Petite Amanda[/b] has cute and original packages, but I think it should work on being more environmentally friendly. Pyramid boxes stand out, but they take up a lot of paper to contain just one cake. Conventional flat-topped pastry boxes would be better. It could consider printing its logo on the sides of cake boxes so that it can promote itself without using a plastic bag (of excellent quality by the way). To carry the box, a nice ribbon with "petite Amanda" printed on it will do. It will be easier to carry and will even be more elegant to look at.
